Last brothers to play for City? Without looking it up how about the Bennett’s. Not sure if the Giles brothers played together which I think would have been before the Bennett’s?
It seems if you are good enough you are old enough eh??? Not seen any of the game yet but will watch it back later when home.... Good to start with 3 points
Listened to it. A bit raw and a bit naive at times, but sounds like there's more to come. Telling that Lawlor was subbed off. Chris Iwelumo raving about Kpakio.
Will Ng automatically come in for him? Good management to take Lawler off; he was on a yellow and needed more strength/height as Posh looked for an equaliser. Difficult decisions to make in CM when Robertson and Turnbull are fit. Having Wintle there today was essential as he made a massive impact. A goal scoring winger and another LB needed. Progress in work. Excellent start. Well done City
The young line up played some good football. Good movement 2 cracking goals. Superb free kick by Rubin and both full backs in the box for the 2nd. Good display by Turner as well. Central defence looks really fragile though. Badly need improving there. Lawlor was really lucky that he wasnt sent off.
Not ideal but Fish and Lawlor were bullied today. Ideally we sign a strong physical type but this board are not backing the manager.
I suspect Peterborough won’t be the only team with big centre forwards to combat. Lawler obviously is a footballer, his vision and passing show that but he’ll struggle one to one with big lumps. I’d still pick him but so long as he’s got a Morrison or Flint next to him to take on the big lads. I’m not convinced by Fish and Chambers showed how poor he was at CB last season. Daland did well today; maybe him & Lawler would work?
Different feel about this team. Most enjoyable home game since the 3-0 hiding we gave the jacks and the 5-0 rout of Plymouth before that. Class performance especially coming from behind to win it. The team BBM put out looked a bit youthful when I saw it but they played like a seasoned squad against what was a very decent young Posh outfit. As far as individuals are concerned, both Colwill senior and junior looked really up for it. The interplay between junior and Tanner looks so promising for the future, whilst senior rose to the task as a genuine No 10 - he should have had a hat trick. The back 4 looked a bit fragile now and again but they stuck to it and Turner deserves to keep his place at Port Vale. Any changes for Port Vale? I'd go with it again if all fit and firing for the confidence factor, but no doubt BBM will want to play his captain. Probably instead of Lawlor unless he wants him to play defensive mid. In that case Wintle to the bench - steady player but goes backwards too much for me. If that's the case I'd also leave Willock off the bench - when he replaced Ashford he looked slow off the mark and disinterested. I'd include Nyakuhwa instead who at least will have at troubling defenders down the left flank like Ashford. Great start and 3 points on the back of a very good overall performance.
Id go same again. I think Lawlor is far better than what he showed today. If we are to challenge near the top though we need reinforcements. CB is a priority.
