Yeah that's how some of the states in America work with the law. Can't remember without looking it up, but there age of consent in some states is higher than the UK, and attached to that is the maximum age for a man to be in a sexual relationship with them. So as example just off the top of my head, a 25 year old man would be considered too old for someone of 17. There will be a chart on google that tells you by state. But my memory is all a bit sketchy on it.
I googled it last time this debate happened, a few years back. Thing is some people even on here are 7 or 8 years older than their partner from memory, so we're probably all on watchlists in the UK.
