https://www.wearehullcity.co.uk/news/2025/august/01/new-stadium-access-control-gates/ no more half the stand exiting along the bottom of the east stand before the end of the game great news Only disabled supporters with blue lanyards and their personal assistant will be permitted to leave the stadium via these gates. All other supporters must exit the stadium bowl via the vomitories located midway up each stand.
Will this affect you in any way reclusive one? Ear defenders and quiet rooms on the way too, this is just fantastic news
Whilst I support the ending of the corner gates as exits, I foresee problems leaving the East Stand in particular. The stairs in the south of the east stand already struggle with overcrowding and pushing - now everyone has to leave that way it’ll make it much much worse.
I don't see an issue really. It moves pretty quickly after full time in the East Stand. The early leavers will still leave early so I don't see the numbers changing. The only difference is them doing their walk of shame with a little more privacy now behind the loyal fans who stay until the and clap Acun. And the team.
If people need to leave early they’ll be able to, and that will be fine. What it should stop is those who don’t really want to leave early, but they just want to get a head start on everyone else leaving at the final whistle, so they can still watch while they wander closer towards the exits. They’ll have to just live with it. Plus the people who will have to use stairs with other people are the ones who should be able to, as opposed to the supporters with disabilities who need, or hugely benefit from, a clearer way to exit. This way they will get the exit the same that they got the entrance. Clearer and well managed.
Tbf they have provided ear defenders if needed before and have had a quiet room for years. I’ve used it with my grandson, who is registered disabled. Last time in there the Disability Liaison Officer said they were looking to upgrade it, which can only be a good thing. He wouldn’t really have been able to go without it available for a short break (whilst watching the live game on the screen in there) They also have volunteers doing live commentary for blind supporters and lots of other things such as large changing facilities, supporter access through the corners with a scanner in the tunnel to avoid being crammed in turnstiles (and now managed exit through them all as well) etc. They’re certainly trying and I think this will help too
