I'd definitely take him. Not that this is really relevant to signing him but I liked how he tried getting the game stopped at St Mary's when the fan collapsed too.
There's not much going on anywhere except Wrexham who seem to be signing someone roughly every 27 minutes.
The leadership profile is clearly something they value - same in past seasons. I hope we get one or two in a similar mold before the end of the window. A Harrison Reed type signing would tick so many important boxes for us in terms of leadership, experience, standards, competition etc
I always expected Wrexham to have a strong window, so to see them signing Coady and Moore is no surprise. And I imagine they're still far from finished. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the top six at the end of the season includes five teams who all weren't even in the division last season.
Wrexham seem to be doing the championship version of what Forest did a few years ago. Needing to completely upgrade a squad for a different division And Birmingham seem to be doing the same but starting from a higher starting point. Most of the time championship clubs can’t afford to do this
They could, but they don’t. You’d be surprised at how many clubs in this league have billionaire owners.
Birmingham I can see being a top 2 candidate. They probably had a mid table championship side last year and on paper have only got stronger. Expect them to do a few more deals by the end of the window as well. Add in the momentum of promotion with 110 points or whatever it was and can see them having a very good year. Wrexham are making some signings now, and ultimately it’s a tv show. A midtable finish won’t be too exciting for the series so they will definitely be going for it.
But with even stricter FFP rules, and almost no money from any TV rights, they can't under the current rules.
I suspect the revenue that comes from Netflix and Amazon series' and celebrity-induced sponsorships very much helps
Absolutely. Incredible marketing. Wrexham are a phenomenon and I get that it’s unrealistic to try and imitate what they’ve done. But the Birmingham model is more realistically achievable. Pompey’s owner is the CEO of Disney. He’s a billionaire. I’m sure he could find a way of pushing their brand in the US etc.
