We went through this before, this is like being stuck in a loop.

Whenever we want to sign a striker, we wait and wait, they go somewhere else and then we scrabble around on deadline day and bring in somebody we didn't really want in the first place, decide they're **** and they spend the rest of their time here making 2 minute cameos every other week before being bunged off to Doncaster, Antalyaspor or Bristol Rovers.

Just. Sign. A. Striker. In June, having held discussions in May and having identified him in January. Like every other club on the planet seemingly does when they want a striker.

Maybe if they had a buyer lined up (concrete) the EFL would see it as a financial benefit and allow it...

It’s as clear as mud. As I understand it, he’s our player. We had transfer agreement with Leverkusen that was triggered, he is contracted to us until 2028 and we have been paying his full salary for July, at least. English football doesn’t permit co-ownership of players, only sell-on clauses, so Puerta’s contract belongs to Hull City entirely. The issue seems to be that we can’t register Puerta for EFL competitions due to the fee restriction coming into force before we could register him.

The EFL don’t have any authority to tell us he isn’t our player and that we need their permission to sell or loan him out.

 

He needs a significant input of money DJ..Most of that squad needed shipped out at the end of last season,it hasn't happened.

I think he's going to struggle? The young lad from Wednesday looks decent though.

But have we been paying his wages for July? It adds weight to the argument if that's a definite.
