I totally get where you’re coming from, they hold a lot of memories. I have one from the Milk Cup in the 70’s for City, although it was passed down to me, but great to have.

Sadly times are changing and I totally get why clubs wouldn’t do this anymore, with everyone so digital.

I've got quite a few going back to the 70's and the old Glasgow Apollo,as you say,it evokes memories...It also reminds you how inexpensive it was to see huge bands in times gone by.

I worked with Billy for quite a while, and still see him now and again on the bus to town on City match days. :emoticon-0138-think

Prices are insane, I feel for my kids actually, because they’ll very rarely get to see who they want to.

I haven’t seen Bill since Covid, he used to come to my house with the programmes, that was after his little shop in YPI closed.
But yes I know he still goes to watch City.

But really the memories aren't in the scrap of paper are they? You could just as easily be reminded of those memories by looking at a photo of the event or even a screenshot of a digital ticket if you really need a visual reminder. It's only because we're used to having scraps of paper and card for events that we think it's a good way to be reminded of them.

Personally I'm extremely minimalist and hate having little bits of paper and having to remember to take them places, so anything like that going digital is good for me.

How would you get your screenshot signed if you happened to meet the artist/famous person..I've got some cracking memories on signed tickets and scraps of paper..

I think you'd manage if you really needed to find something. You could get a photo if you're into that kind of thing. I find it hard to believe people are desperate for autographs but have absolutely nothing on them unless they have a paper ticket for the event. If digital tickets had always been possible no one would be complaining that there's nothing physical to get signed if you happen to meet someone famous, it's just that we're used to that being an option now.

I don't have an issue with you being minimalistic,I couldn't give a **** what you do in your life,it's of no concern to me.

It's just that I'm not and I like little bits 'n' bobs to remind me of certain things that have happened in my life or people who no longer exist and meant something to me personally. As for being 'desperate' for an autograph, that's not me if that's who it's aimed at...

We're all different, maybe you should respect that?

I’ve still got our cup final tickets
    I know we played there
But seeing them tickets in my drawer every now and again brings it all back
I’ll never get rid of them

(True) I found a 'Fish Out' sticker the other day, it's now with a 'Sack Dolan' one. There's no way I'm getting rid of them, they might come in useful again one day. :emoticon-0138-think

No, I disagree. Looking at a digital “copy” is completely different to an actual ticket than you can feel and actually see what happened with it. I guess it’s all down to your own sensory perception, but for me the digital just doesn’t work.

The selfie has replaced the autograph though. Me personally, I like the autographed ticket.

I used to buy programmes until a few years ago.
I would never read them and they were bulky to carry around.
I decided to stop buying them.
Even if they went digital I wouldnt read them.

We decamped from Ebenezer's on Tuesday as it was karaoke and bingo, ended up in Masters Bar. Some gadger, who I've never seen before, ambled across and said 'I've got a new crombie on with a great lining in it', he opened his coat (steady) to reveal black and white vertical stripes, big deal. Sometimes I think I'm a freak magnet, that said I do know you, Cityzen, and Rover. :emoticon-0138-think

Lol. I'd forgotten we used to do that.

One round the neck, two tied round the wrists.

Five button waistband on ya Oxford bags; three star jumper halfway up ya back; monkey boots.

And then ya wonder why ya got chased down North Road and kicked in?

By the Priory lot, not by away fans by the way.
