I can see that this season the fans are going to be divided into the loyal Cult of Acun, & those that still think Acun’s a ****. However, let’s all get behind the team & the manager no matter what & make our library, sorry stadium into a noisy place like we have at away games. Hopefully the standing sections can get things going & everyone gets into it!
I'm sure for many it will be that divisive, tribal narrative as it is the one which pervades public life at the moment. I'm sure the more astute ones can acknowledge the positives of his ownership without airbrushing the negatives though.
I have no idea, and that answer covers a multitude of questions. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
I like Selles and I was keen to keep him. Now that the Jak2 has arrived, I have to say, I’m even happier and have a better feeling with him at the helm. Only time will tell I guess.
The squad is getting there but there’s still an awful lot of work to do to make us competitive beyond a first XI. No one can declare it’s going well or badly until our transfer window is complete.
As long as pathways for the likes of Brown, TSF and McCarthy aren’t blocked also. Defo McCarthy anyway…
The last time I came down(end of last season),I remarked to the lads I was with that I couldn't wait to get out of the Stadium. I have an appalling sense of smell but some things twig it occasionally, that concourse street food triggered it that day...It was awful for me anyway but I've never been one for eating at Football(The odd pie in years past).
I don’t think 1,500 City fans spread over differing levels in a few rows in each section will make any difference. In fact the away section and the way safe standing is set up there will help away fans to make more noise.
As long as they genuinely are good enough - but we also can’t stay up by being in the bottom 3 but appealing to the EFL that we should stay up because we provided pathways to the first team for youth players. Difficult balance!
That pathway might well include first team experience at a lower level first though. Brown and TSF aren't there yet for me, and I saw a fair bit of TSF last season at Gateshead. The Turkish friendlies weren't a great indicator of how they'll cope with the physicality of the EFL as they stood off a lot more than the likes of Stockport and Sunderland. Clearly Brown is a prospect though. I'd probably be looking to include Vaughan and McCarthy as much as possible, based on what I've seen in the last 2 friendlies.
Me too! Lol. I was a Gelhardt fan, and I think under the Jak and a few better performing players, he’d have been a real asset.
