I would guess that it has some form of triage questionnaire, asking the same standard questions that a Human physio would ask, where pain levels are rated 1-10 and the cause of the pain is identified... Sitting too long in an office chair and then an evening on the sofa (cause of most lower back pain) would be treatable via AI physio, a major traffic accident would probably refer to an actual physio.. either way a great example of how the private sector can help and improve the public sec.

    I recently(eventually) got to see a physio due to back/hip pain(arthritis).

Mostly questions,a bit of stretching to give him some indication of what was going on,then he printed off a load of exercises and told me to try them at home and they'd see me in 5 weeks...I did these stretches for a week, then phoned the physio dept and told them I won't bother going back to tick the necessary N.H.S boxes.

Some may disagree but it's basically "**** off and fix yourself"...

Did it stop your pain after you’d been doing them for a couple of months?

No,the tramadol do that and to be honest I don't think there's much else they can do for degenerative artritis.

The exercises the boy gave me to do hurt me.

I try and go for a 2 mile walk 3 or 4 times a week nowadays, the other 4 or 3 days are spent seized up and in pain.

    * No pain no gain, as the physios often say. I've always done the exercises the physios have told me to do, and followed them to the letter, not doing more or less.

    No good physios says that.

Mine constantly says ‘don’t work into pain’

That’s not good. Should have had the exercises reviewed maybe.

I’ve got a few arthritic bits and bobs, but mainly use Pilates as a long term (over 20 years) way of exercising which stops general aches, pains and weak areas. I’d thoroughly recommend it if you can find a good instructor

Times change, mine was saying that thirty odd years ago. In those times you'd see crutches (steady) that went under your armpits, if you couldn't weight bear you weren't given the elbow crutches in use nowadays. :emoticon-0138-think

    Worth a try I’d say.
If you can strengthen core areas and increase flexibility in others it should take pressure off the bits that aren’t good.

Need to give it a while to work though
