Yes me too. We have been too nice on the pitch in recent years and easily bullied. But I think things have been changing and we are after players who are willing to leave their foot in. Even in the game the other night there were a few feisty challenges that would have been bookings normally.
He did score 20 for Swansea a few years ago, but then hasn't scored nearly that many in a season since. Which I think is a good example of how strikers don't innately guarantee a certain number of goals and their output actually depends on various factors.
44 goals 8 assists in 125 championship appearances. So a goal contribution every 2.5 games or so. Career wise it's 111 goals and 31 assists in 351 games. Forgive me. When was the last time we had a better than 1 in 3 goal contributions striker? Or did you just look at last season when he only scored 3 but also got 8 assists?
It's what he creates for others as well, and the ****housery. And the fact he's played a ton of games at a higher level.
you cannot get better at this level without spending a lot more money frigan would probably have been amazing but he's costing £10m+ including wages
Absolutely. I'm sure some would rather we kept Pedro because he scored 5 last season and McBurnie only scored 3.
I would rather we kept Pedro, he’s an absolute baller and had he been utilised in a way that played even remotely to his strengths I reckon he’d have scored a bag full at this level. That said. I wouldn’t be surprised if he was on similar to what McBurnie will probably be offered.
In purely footballing terms I'd say McBurnie would be an upgrade. Whether the financials are credible or not is anyone's guess
Id be happy with McBurnie given our current situation. I just worry that we once again spend all summer trying to convince a striker to sign for us only to lose out last minute to another club. We do this all the time... If he wants to sign for us and we no longer have this wage restriction... surely it would be done today or tomorrow?
