Depends what attacker he has through the door though right? We’ve lost our 2 top goalscorers from last season and yet to replace them…
They were but there were also a lot of **** ones that we dropped crucial points in and that ultimately lost Rosenior his job. Don’t believe the guff about Rosenior being sacked mainly because of the style of play; he was sacked for not finishing in the play-offs. The games against Wednesday, Swansea, Preston, Birmingham, Stoke and Plymouth during the second half of that season were woeful. We drew too many games we should’ve won and lost too many games we shouldn’t have lost and that’s why he was sacked because in Acun’s mind, he pushed the boat out in January with signings to help finish over the line and instead we fizzled out.
I’m mindful that we haven’t yet seen Jak’s team and tactics exposed to a proper Championship fixture. When Coventry are attacking us on Saturday week will Jak’s team be quite so front-footed?
We were lucky to stay up last season. The width of a crossbar (Oxford home) kept us up. We played with a fear (understandably) towards the end of last season - knowing if we conceded first we would probably lose the game because as a side we created very few chances TWT if it was the right decision for us to change manager.
Was reading the Sheff Utd forum. They were saying they look good going forward, but wide open on the counter attack. Be interesting to see how he does there.
From the biggest club in the world! I would love it, not just to piss them off, but because he is a great player.
Jakirović is flexible with his tactics according to the man himself. I’m fine if the team sits deeper and counter-attacks against some opposition. I couldn’t tell you what Sellés’ tactics or plan was against any opposition last season. They defended well but the players didn’t look like they had a clue what to do in possession and relied heavily on Gelhardt trying to take three players on himself.
For someone that wasn't having the conversation, and wasn't going to mention him again, you drone on about him more than the Russian military. Next time try a 'that is all', and stick it. That is all. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
His wages could be an issue? Plus TWS will want a decent fee for him if they sell - Sorry replying to the post about Gelhardt not being signed by anyone atm.
Yes probably. I liked him. Pity we are having these financial issues, he would have been good for us this season.
He’d be perfect for how Jak is trying to set us up. He brings a lot of what Palmer does with twice as much energy
