Hardly touch the bike now, too many breaks, then the problem is, you get more cautious which weirdly seems to lead to more accidents and less enjoyment.
Physio update - SUCCESS! I can now officially get back on the bikes - in fact it's encouraged. Steady away and on the flat (mainly) for a few sessions but can start to build it back up and he's happy for me to cycle every other day. Exercise program to do each day to supplement. Boom! Go back and see him in 2 weeks for more laser / ultrasound and hopefully well on the mend. Was exactly the news I was hoping for. Been getting me a bit down over the weekend. Doing precisely no exercise for a month has been bloody awful.
Another mishap on the Mtb, 18 yrs ago today,in the French Alps, what you can't see is at the top of that hill its sheer slate, hit it too fast, by the time I tried to correct the slide I was over the fence, negotiating that electric fence back was another story. Now you know why I walk.
He sends me that on the anniversary every year, as done from year 1, pissed himself when I did it, was the second time I came off that day, ffs
Thought I’d light this thread up for some eating advice. I’ve dropped about 1 and a half stone (maybe a tad more) since May but I’m starting to get my appetite back again now and I can finish meals off. I’m trying to eat healthy (ish) which makes it harder to put weight on quick. Yesterday, I had 4 weetabix and coffee at 8am. Spag bol 12pm. Beef stew 4pm. Chilli con carne and rice at 8pm. 6 egg scrambled egg before bed at 11pm. Any ingredients, I could start adding which would help the weight go on quicker? I hate being thin (ish) again and would really appreciate any advice.
To be honest mate, I'm surprised you're not gaining weight if you're eating 5 times a day like that. I guess you could add in some more calorific foods like cheese, dairy, nuts, avocados and pasta
It’s only been two days now that I’ve started eating properly. It’s been coming back slowly but for what felt like forever, I was only managing like a slice of toast in a full day. Sometimes nothing. I was prescribed some calorie drinks but they were ****ing awful and struggled to get them down me. Im probably just needlessly stressing because I’m also very impatient lol
Brown rice with basically everything was my go to when bulking. As long as you have a rough idea of what you need on a daily basis calorie wise going 3-500 calories over that will see you gain weight pretty quickly and (if you are doing some sort of weight training) not just getting fat
Cheers mate. Nah no weight training. I’m still not going any further than my garden, at the moment. Hopefully I can resume light training early next year, all going well.
Fair enough, I’d probably be aiming for 300 calories over then, but it is hard if you aren’t just eating ****e. Brown rice is high in calories for a healthy option, and cheap. ****ing hard to get the calories in just eating lean meat, eggs and vegetables, not to mention pricy. I always preferred 1 or 2 big meals a day rather than eating smaller meals throughout the day so all personal preference really. Protein bulking shakes probably a decent option for you as well, I’ve not tried them though
