He will hardly get any game time - more like a glorified sub for most of this season, and that's if they even manage to register him with La Liga.

My take on players like Rashford, etc, is that we are a self defeating club. We have recently become a club that witch hunts our own players publicly to the point of becoming ostracized which effectively kills their resell value. This happens with every team, mind you. But the rate at which we have done this in recent years demonstrates a fundamental flaw in our operational strategy.

Take this statement: Ruben Amorim says rival clubs might be in for a "shock" if they think they can sign Manchester United's unwanted players on the cheap this summer.

We don’t even have any leverage to demand meaningful transfer for our players because we have misused them, mismanaged them (stupid salaries, holding on to them for too long), and misread the transfer market thinking we will command higher price as others do to us.

Back on Rashford; love him, hate him, he was a massive loss for us last season because he didn’t “somehow” fit into a system and we squarely blamed him for it. Yet the so-called system delivered squat without him in it while his salary became a problem for Villa who would have been happy to have him.

Overall, we fkin stink operationally. While I hope this is a phasing out period, I am not certain that simply shifting out the parts will solve the structural problem.

Not really, United are actively trying to sell both players and Amorim likely has no intention in including them in his match squads next season, sold or not.
There are other players that United would be willing to sell, like Garnacho for instance, but if they arent sold, my guess is Amorim would utilise them in his squads for next season. For Rashford and Sancho, I dont think there is any coming back for them, whether they go or not, Amorim has decided they are persona non grata.

    It is strange though.
Garnacho and Antony have both been told to find a new club but they still have their numbers. It's like Rashford and Sancho have already gone and they have just forgot to remove the pics.

Its like I said though, United want rid of all 4 of those players, yes, but I think if Garnacho and Antony DONT get sold, they will play for United next season, in some capacity. Rashford and Sancho have burned their bridges, Rashfords falling out with Amorim is well known, and Sancho's "Freedom" Tweet when he went to us on loan last season probably also pissed Amorim off immensely. I dont see a world in which, if not sold, either of those players pull on a United jersey ever again.

Garnacho and Antony are to be sold for footballing reasons, where as Rashford and Sancho, its a personal thing.

Not in the case of Garnacho, it's all about his attitude as well.

Football wise, he could still improve. He's just proven to be a bit of a ****.

Antony, he's not caused any trouble as far as I'm aware.

I wasnt aware of that, I have to say, but obviously I dont follow United as much as you guys.
The Rashford and Sancho sagas have been way more prominent in the media, to the point where I dont think there is a way back for them if they decided to see out their United contracts. For the entirety of Amorims run of things at least, they wont be playing for United.
Is Garnacho in a similar situation then?

He had a go after the EL final that he hadn't played enough and then posted social media supporting both Rashford and Sancho, essentially.

He's not, though on anywhere near a similar salary so could be reintegrated. He'd need to lower his expectations and get back in the queue for a 1st team place, it's not like he really earned it.

That bit also applies to Antony. The only reason he wouldn't be allowed back is that he won't now get a game and might kick off if he never plays.

There sounds interest in both of them though, and so they should really take the sensible step and leave.

    They've already been replaced.

Seems mad that Rashford and Sancho are the two players that are being flogged.
I always rated Rashford and Sancho was a baller at Dortmund, if you'd told me this would be the case 4 years ago I'd have asked you to get your head examined.
I know the reasons why, and for what its worth I agree with Amorim that those two need to go, its just mad that that is how it has turned out.

Players fall out with managers all the time. But what is problematic is the destruction of value that has occurred at the club. It is crazy we are at a point that we can’t even sell any of our players for a decent profits because we are our own worst enemy. Players like Garnacho were decently valued a few seasons ago but now only getting low ball offers. Mainoo is another example of a good player coming through the system, but I’m hoping he’s not the next to go for free.

Excellent game against Bournemouth - high energy and some accurate passing - good goals too (MUTV has highlights)

Now Hojlund is apparently for sale at £30m. The logic here escapes my simple mind. We effectively buy players at high price and destroy their value. It's like buying potential stocks at record high then selling at record low.

It seems to have gone quiet on Watkins, who would be my preferred signing if we get one. Ready made experience who can hit the ground. Hojlund could then stay.

Sesko is another Hojlund though. Same age, same experience etc. Taking a big chance there. And could probably not afford to have both in the squad, so Hojlund goes.

I'm not sure why bringing in a similar players is warranted. The best of strikers would have struggled in that team last season. The setup never suited the players at Amorim’s disposal to think a striker will just score wonderful goals to make up for the shortfall. But now with solid and experienced additions in Mbeumo and Cunha, Hojlund will get better support.

I’m sure he’ll be sold for peanuts only to start thriving elsewhere. That has been the United’s way this decade.
