It is an easy excuse. Crucially, it's also an accurate one.

Newcastle have recently spent more than most as we were starting from a relegation standard base. The signings have been largely excellent, as has been the manager.

I think you will find it's pretty accurate if you are honest.
We have spent an absolute fortune on players (and **** managers)
Chelsea have spent even more on about 300 players.
Liverpool have still won the league more often though because they had the right managers using players in their best systems.
It's been pointed out that you are not far off in the spending league yet you have not really challenged at the top. Why do you think this is?

He might not be wumming because big 6 fans do all love a financial rule. They have to believe the other contestants aren't maimed.

Ah yes, bide our time and in 40 years you may be able to compete...... but you wont as we will introduce more rules to restrict and invent new ways for the top clubs to earn more than NUFC could ever do commercially. CWC anyone..... £80M to Chelsea and £40M to Man City. Champion League anyone -- top seeds £70M, lower seeds £10M.

Its all tied up and you know it

I’m still yet to get to the bottom of the argument that originally highlighted though - what have the top 6 done since you won the cup in Feb that has caused them to ‘close rank’

If it’s honestly Liverpool signing Ekitike when Newcastle were interested and Manchester United now being interested in Sesko then unfortunately that’s the way football works. It’s not to stop Newcastle from getting them - it’s because those 2 teams both needed forward players and atm there is a small amount of quality out there so teams are fishing in the same pond n

You'll never penetrate the big 6 nut on this. They have to find a way to believe what their clubs do is better than it is. That the playing field is 'fair' and any club can do it if they can, but they're just better.

They're plain wrong of course and they have every advantage possible and all other clubs get their wings clipped.

Because we started with team that had 1st team players that were bought in the championship 6 years ago. Before Ashley NUFC was in the top 10 richest teams in the world. Look it up. For 15 years, he didnt increase our commercial revenue. Before he took over we were richer than Man City and Chelsea.

The only difference between Man City, Chelsea and Liverpool etc is that they got their rich owners in place before the rules were brought in to prevent anyone else doing a Man C or Chelsea

Dont come onto a NUFC board spouting **** if you dont know NUFC history

Its the same bollock argument that somehow none of our current travails are to do with king Eddie, or the Saudis.

Newcastle could very easily have kicked on, this summer at the very least, but due to awful planning, likely too much power to the manager and the disastrously slow processes of Saudis, we are where we are.

Our issues are almost entirely our own making.
Yes, PSR is very restrictive for barely veiled reasons, but for the PIF it should’ve all been very easy to circumvent.

Really what you’re saying is that you want immediate success. It’s not enough that you’re slowly building a club that recently was in the champ and fighting relegation and now is thought of as a constant team competing for Europe and who have won a cup for first time in 70 years - what you actually want is to win the title now.

news for you, only 1 team can win the league. Liverpool took 30 years to do it since they last did it and spent god knows how much money in that time but were up against bigger and better clubs.

Then got the backroom stuff sorted, became a seeious club from top down and hired a manager than improved good players and made them Brilliant. Even then still took 5 years.

The real world isn’t championship manager where you give yourself a budget of 1bn and go and buy Mbappe donnarumma dembele bellingham and yamal and win the league every year.

As I said, what's the point - it's the way football works and we will do everything in our power to keep it that way. Just **** off to your super league instead of doing it by stealth. Would have more respect if you just said you want a closed shop instead of trying to insist that the Liverpool or Man U have done it the right way.

Leicester just avoided relegation then won the league spending even less.

You have been drawn into this by a sock account of a **** with too much time on his hands. He’s won as far as he’s concerned as you’re still here and actually not making great strides with your defence.

I dont want immediate success, I want an equal chance at success as those teams before us.

Liverpool got success due to Littlewood pools owner ploughing money in with no restrictions. So let's open it up again. Cap spending at say £300m a year and no PSR rules etc. Let's see how that level playing field plays out.

You realise if the top 6 left.

Newcastle would suddenly become Man City and would dominate the league and win it every year as they’d have far more spending power than anyone else. Now maybe you’d be happy with that? Unfortunately all leagues always have bigger clubs for one reason or another, dominance comes and goes and clubs move up and down. Brighton newrly went out of business and then within 20 years they became a model prem club. Similar with Brentford.

Neecastle will continue to challenge for trophies and europe. Sustain that success and you win a few more trophies, you constantly compete in CL. You then become attentive to players and better players join and you compete even more.

5 years ago you were fighting relegation. Now you’re a CL team having won a trophy. Not sure why so upset over it.

I only go on boards that cry about "big teams" spending what they earn.
Most clubs supporters just watch their own club and cheer what they see.

    Last year
    United 15th place
    Spurs 17th place

    Yay for money <laugh>

    Not a valid point.

You referenced the spending of the “big clubs” vs us.
You then referenced your **** team before Klopp. Not as **** as us.
You also referenced a glut of £30m players Klopp turned to superstars… while we did… well, nothing under Ashley. Don’t get me started on the damage that prick did. Ohhhh, to spend multiple £30ms….
