It's got to the point where us fans get excited at Madsen playing a 5 yard pass, although he got confused against the Dutch team and put them clean through. I don't know what's going on with Celar or Varane, the latter is yet to feature pre season at all yet but the squad is still short of a left back, advanced central midfielder and striker (imo). Larkeche isn't too dissimilar to Smyth in that he tries hard but is just a headless chicken.
As much as I like Smyth for his work rate, pace and willingness to defend, there is unfortunately too little end product in terms of either assists or goals. It looks like Poku might provide more of that end product.
It seems Eze's sell-on is 15% of their profit which, if his £68 million release clause is triggered, would give Palace a £48 million profit. That would give us £7.2 million. This is according to The Guardian...
Have to say he’s a bargain at that price but he’s the kind of player you build a team around, would have thought any move would have happened by now to take advantage of pre season. Still can’t see him leaving London, and probably staying at Palace.
Palace are determined to keep him and making certain demands on upfront payments. As you say, if there was a serious bidder they'd have snapped him up by now. He's played in pre season and they're in Australia at the moment so doesn't look likely...
Think The Graudian is mistaken, when we sold him to Palace it was reported as 20% of sell on fee not the profit..... That was partly the reason for accepting a lower fee from Palace at the time.....
Wouldn't be the first time The Grauniad got something wrong. Mind you if he stays put we'll get feck all...
This is being more widely reported now as 15% of the profit... https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/arsenal-transfer-eberechi-eze-palace-35647976
