Come on Rick - you are better than that. We have often disagreed over many years and will undoubtedly in the future but as you know it is nothing personal. Thorup is gone and it is all in the past and everybody accepts that last season was not good but it doesn't stop us wondering why and querying whether the negative information about Thorup is fact or tittle tattle.
I think the issue is more how aggressively it is declared that it is, in fact, tittle tattle when the reality is as you say no-one knows. You’re not the one shutting down debate, nor is Rick
They keep changing game times to blasted early kickoffs. Most of those are 04:30 for me. https://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/25350503.norwich-city-ipswich-date-announced-sky-confirm-picks/
Could the last one out of Wednesday please turn out the lights? 16 players in their senior squad according to their website. They've had a stand closed by the Council on safety grounds, and their joke of an owner still wants £100m to sell. Really depressing to see the "fit and proper" owner test fail yet again.
No, it's not personal, but it just turns into a pointless tit for tat based on supposition and going nowhere. We have a new season starting soon so let's talk about that.
A really good podcast by the guys at TNC with Jacob Wright. I didn’t realise he’s only 19, I thought he was a couple of years older
Has anyone had a guess at our first team lineup yet? Obviously the window isn't compete, but interesting to see how we're shaping up. For what it's worth, I'd guess: Kovacevic Medic Darling Cordoba Fisher Wright Nunez Stacey Crnac Shwartau Sargent
With that line-up the bench is going to be something special. But a RB playing LB when we have just signed a very experienced LB?
I think Fisher is having a little problem with his hamstring at the moment. Really hope he's ready to play in the opener. Other than, that looks like a pretty decent lineup. Schartau may be a little weak for that spot but he's still 19 and got a lot of experience last season.
Yeah fair point, most likely Schlupp in, and Stacey replaces Fisher (wasn't aware he was injured either). Bench 9 from: Long/Reyes, Hills, Duffy, McLean, Slimane, Marcondes, Forson, Jurasek, Forsyth, Diallo, Kvistgaarden?
Grimshaw will likely be the GK on the bench ahead of Ling/Reyes. Chrisene should be fit enough for the bench at least, if not a start. Forsyth unlikely to be fit enough so swap Gibbs in for him
At this moment in time I would suggest: Kovacevic Stacey Medic Darling Schlupp Wright Nunez Crnac Forson Jurasek Sargent Bench: Grimshaw Fisher Chrisene Hills/Duffy Cordoba Topic Schwartau Diallo Kvistgaarden That leaves: Long Reyes Moulden Mahovo (in) McConville Slimane Gibbs Forsyth (not fit) McLean (inj) Marcondes
Kovacevic Stacey Medic Darling Schlupp Topic Jurasek Nunez Wright Diallo Sargent Unsure if Diallo's visa is all complete yet. Topic protecting the back line and structure turns into a 433 on the ball. No idea of Topic's fitness but could swap him out for Wright with several other mids options to add.
Manning on preparations for the new season: "I think we defended the box well. I thought the desire to do it was good, and you're going to have to do that over a 46-game Championship season". We're not going to be at our best all the time. What do you then fall back on? That's where you're going to have to dig deep, you're going to have to be willing to run, and like you saw in the box tonight, put your body on the line. We're definitely trying to change certain habits from last year where we're trying to build new connections. That doesn't happen overnight. Our job and what you need is a little bit of time, a bit of success and a bit of failure, is how do we connect? How do we align? How do we get everybody on the same page? Where we're at is trying to change habits from last season, introduce new players, new working methods. It doesn't click and happen straight away. There are lots of positives to take, lots of things that we need to be better at and that weren't good enough." https://www.pinkun.com/sport/interv...-explains-habit-busting-mission-norwich-city/
