I've been expecting a loan, in that position, so he'll do unless we get better I never expected a high priced striker coming in, as first choice, as I've said before. I expect he'd prefer us to Leipzig, more chance to impress and fit back into the Premier League. Leipzig are more of a franchise than a proper football club ... ... they can become our feeder club if they like.
I never believed we'd be permanently signing a top player in the CF position, pie in the sky imo. I know many supporters demand/expect better but we need to be realistic and we're all realists. I'd rather have a PL loan than a £30m foreign player who might need two months to adapt ... ... realistically we don't have two months, it gets really serious at 3pm against West Ham.
Waste of a loan for me. We need a striker who’s clear of Mayenda, not another young lad to compete with him. Doubt Chelsea are sending him here without a guarantee of game time.
I'd love that but, at this stage of the season, really don't believe he exists ... ... that's why I keep banging on about a PL loan. not many clubs have strikers going spare and very few will risk one before the season starts. The only chance would be for a top club to sign one or two replacements ... like Liverpool are doing
Guiu looks a quality player and I think he improves us, I agree I'd prefer an option to buy in the deal Mayenda will still play loads so his development won't be impacted at all imo
Tbh I’m starting to come round to guiu a little bit. My thoughts are: - I really think Isidor will get at least 10 goals. His shots hit corners pretty consistently and he’ll get chances with the new quality players around him. - If we sign a ready made winger too that RLB wants we’ll have Isidor, Mayenda, guiu, adingra, Mundle, talbi, new winger too chip in with goals, as well as from midfield and defence - a loan potentially opens up the budget to strengthen further at the back and tighten up the other end - he is also a good player with a lot of potential, if he hits that with us it could be class for our season - he suits RLBs system, he’s physical and non stop presses
If this loan rumour happens to be true, it means we dont have a permanent striker deal on the horizon. Probably due to the fact there isnt anybody on the horizon, and if there is, they would cost an absolute fortune to vastly improve on the 2 we currently have. We'll need 3 strikers, and having 3 of similar quality isnt a bad thing.
If he was at Palace, Bournemouth, West Ham or whoever I reckon he'd already have a first team place imo ... ... just because he's at Chelsea I don't think we should ignore him. When you look at the level of players we've recently considered this lad is streets ahead. please log in to view this image
I agree I don't understand the skepticism, there's obviously a reason Chelsea aren't open to selling him permanently, Mayenda Isidor and Guiu would be very solid striker options
Got this from Twitter but a new song if Robin Roefs signs……. “Who kept the goals out!!…….Roefs, Roefs, Roefs Roefs” to the tune of who let the dogs out!
I think, as supporters, we're starting to get a bit carried away tbh, we're all realists at the end of the day. I really don't believe this mythical 'established, experienced, top quality' striker exists at the level who'd really improve us.
Not at all, none of us fans want him for £40m - We have been linked with him for weeks, we have been linked with Guiu for weeks too, it's just the agents doing their job and click bait sites having a field day. My mate is an avid Fulham fan, he is happy they are looking to upgrade him, he said he is deceptively slow, bang average and he would have been happy to hear he has been sold for £20m, the fact everyone is talking £40m he is laughing his socks off. Guiu - His goals could be the difference between staying up and going down, I hate loans with no option and nobody is going to be offered an option on this one. A gamble because if you stay up and he scores 20 goals they need replacing next season and you have just increased the value of him but back to square one. If you go down you still lose a striker and you need to attract another one, but this time as a Championship club A few days ago someone reported we had agreed terms with Fulham and the player, we were just waiting for Fulham to get their replacement in place, it's all nonsense. Anyway, good luck, I would be relieved if you sign either and we don't as I don't believe they are the answer, if we do sign one I just hope the club have made the right decision, so far they have done an excellent recruitment job so I have to have faith
