I guess it means it can be as high as we want in theory but they’ll not let us go crazy on single players? Doesn’t seem to be much difference though

Could be more of a total weekly wages. Get rid of Burstow, Jones, McL, Omur and increase our wage headroom as such that we can afford McBurnie as well as cheaper winger alternatives for example

I agree, its probably wages as % of turn over, with a fixed cap say 120%

The article actually says that although the cap has been lifted, in practice the PSR restrictions mean that it won't make a huge difference to what we can have as a salary budget.

Haven't you heard? Acun says anyone that wants to leave can go. For a successful businessman I'm not sure he understands how to play hardball.

I don’t think this is particularly a bad thing, if anything it makes us an easier to club to sign for with players knowing they won’t be stuck here if another opportunity arises.

What he says in public and what he does in private could be different?

That's fine, but as soon as you publicly announce that anyone can leave you give away your first negotiating chip. It's the difference between putting your house on the market and someone knocking on your door pleading with you to sell.

Up until the outcome of his court case in May no club would take a risk on him last year

If it was really the case that anyone who wanted out can leave regardless of financials, then this time last year we wouldn't have had virtually any senior pros on the books.

When we have sold players for lowball offers it's because we've had to for PSR/cashflow reasons.

We don't actually just let players leave whenever they fancy it, the ones who are said to have left because they wanted to, are generally ones we wanted off the wage bill anyway.
