Prediction League PRE-AMBLE

Ok, fellas nearly there , just a couple of confirmations to come but looks like everyone’s back, and a welcome to LBW.

A couple of changes. The Premiership match days are over 4 days, Friday to Monday – 1 5 3 and 1 games. So I thought if results day would be Monday (to include the Sunday games), then might as well make it results on Tuesday to complete the set. Also, we lose 8 match days and of course there are fewer teams so in addition to the 10 games there will be an extra 3 made up of the games involving whoever is top of each of the other divisions at the time. Keeps us in touch with other football , and if things are not going well for the lads, will remind us of where we are now compared to the dark depths that we have endured in recent history.

For a further bit of fun------ years ago I ran another competition and still have the spread sheets. Not compulsory, just if you want to, it requires no weekly commitment --- just a selection of teams now, and then a few more at season half way at end of Dec. Basic format is—select who you think will be good teams , and who you think will be bad team from each of the 4 divisions. Also an FA Cup teams from each division. As your good team gains points, you will receive the same, but any points the bad teams get you will have deducted. Goals bonus points – 1pt for every goal your good team scores above three in a game, but minus 2 for every one conceded above three. (reverse of this for your bad teams- 1pt for conceded goals above 3, minus 2 for each scored above 3 ).
Cup scoring and Dec. team scoring I’ll explain at the time.
