Baz saying Destan, Lundstram and Akintola all pretty much done. Lundstram now a loan. Paid 350/400k for Laalaoui, in discussions with EFL to try and register. Also in discussions with football league for Puerta, but with the condition that we will sell him on. McBurnie wants to come
Baz has said it a few times now that the EFL might void the transfers for Laalaoui and Puerta but how is that even possible? We paid for them and they signed contracts. Legally, they are our players. The EFL can decide whether they can be registered or not but they have no authority to tell us which assets we own. If they’re trying to argue that Laalaoui and Puerta aren’t our players and we aren’t even allowed to loan them out or sell them then we should appeal to FIFA and CAS. It actually has **** all to do with the EFL except for the registration issue.
If we are allowed to register Puerta with the condition we sell him on then that ****s his value too. We should be able to do whatever we want - whether that means loaning him out or selling him - especially if the transfer ban is going to be reduced to a single window.
Obviously part of the "appeal" discussion will be those registrations. I'd be surprised if the fee restriction is lifted this window, but I'd also be surprised if we were left in limbo with those 2. It benefits nobody.
im just wondering why we even need to register him if we are going to sell him anyway? We own his contract, surely we can just sell him now?!? I must be missing something. Is it just that we would be able to get more for him as a registered player? ♂️
Yep that's absolute nonsense surely! It's also knackered up Laalaoui's start with us, as he'd have got decent minutes in pre season and could have ended up being a good option to start the season with.
maybe this move gives him the chance to not hang around with bad influences . If he is as bad as painted I’m pretty sure he’d have been bombed out by his club ?
Having 2 transfer lists depending on the restriction has definitely helped the club allowing us to not spend ridiculous amounts of money on 10 or 12 players who can't cut it like most seasons, and the 2nd list which had the restriction really seems to have had Dublin working for his wage and we seem to have for once got some really good players from the situation and we are giving the younger players minutes and it appears some of those can very much hold their own. Only one linked i hoped we could get that we never was Frigan but if the guys upstairs can bring in McBurnie so we have a goal scorer it really could be a great season, i hope the restriction is not totally lifted just reduced so Acun can't think the xmas shop is open early and start the crap again.
He’s effectively been dropped as he hasn’t played a football match since December 2023. He was out of contract at the end be of the 23/24 season and missed all of last season because no one wanted to touch him due to his legal problems. It’s obvious there are big question marks over his behaviour and attitude, but he was once considered the future left-back of Man Utd, so if he didn’t come with a lot of baggage we wouldn’t even be in with a shout of signing him. The club are clearly exploring whether the trade-off is worth it. They might yet decide it isn’t.
I don't think Acun is worried about if the trade off is worth it he took the chance to get Zambrano a player we would never have got and is still trying to sort something to keep him, so Williams is another with an issue and if he can show his worth Acun will want him even if only to make good profit at a later stage, hopefully SJ has the final say and it seems they do listen to him to a degree i think.
The odd things about this situation is that city should be exploring the free agent market every transfer window anyway. The ideal situation is that the players city bring in before the hearing are ones they’d identified as worth it regardless of the restrictions.
I don’t think it’s about profit as much as it’s about signing players of a quality we couldn’t afford without their issues. Zambrano had previously been linked with several PL clubs before we signed him. He’d have already have been somewhere else if he didn’t have the doping ban looming.
Someone had compared BW to AC on the baggage side of things, but something that gives a touch of hope is that alcoholism and addiction is for me a disease that a lot of people are genetically predisposed to suffer from, unlike just being a massive ****ing dick in BW's case. For someone like Connolly it may be easy enough to go 2, 3, 4 months without drinking but you'll always be on the edge and potentially one drink away from it all going to ****. For Williams, there's the hope that he's learned in this last 12 months that he can't act like a complete bell end without consequences, hopefully he's grown up and a fresh start could get him back into the game at the higher end
I think it is money hence his Our team is worth potentially £100 million comment, even with previous issues if these players perform they would definitely be wanted by other clubs once the baggage is sorted.
I agree, but i think the sell off cheap thing was to get money in asap so they could get wage bill down show income to be able to bring the players in they have or are going to bring in still, **** scenario but this trade off seems to be working in the clubs favour with what they have brought in so far. Seems that maybe he is listening to the other people upstairs and letting them do their job.
95% of transfer targets are his choices. Not true, we all know that incoming players are all Acun's shady deals with his dodgy mates in Turkey.
