What 'lack of integrity', fostering a relationship with the owner at risk of sounding like a club PR guy or being critical when it's due? Seems you want it both ways.
I think it's the fact that he's mentioned none of this until it's come out this summer, then always been behind the nationals in reporting it. If he knows the actual state of play, get the story out there?
Any idea why we're bringing in a 19 year old rookie when we're not prone to blooding them at that age? I wish the lad well and hope he gets a chance but it's an odd one..
But doesn't he need to be included in the squad? How big is the squad at present,I've genuinely no idea?
Surely to report consistently you need consistent management at the club? Think you're shooting the messenger on this occasion. Why shouldn't he be frustrated and let down like the rest of us - especially after trusting the relationship and basing his reporting on that previously?
Are we bringing him in or are we just interested in bringing him in? We are linked with name after name - any signings?
I'm not. I have no problem with the message, in fact I welcome it. Me questioning his integrity is based on personal opinion, there's no facts one way or the other. But to me, it seems that his reporting often abruply changes tone upon a personal experience which I'm not a fan of. In this instance its a hunch, with Tim it was clear. I've stuck up for Baz plenty of times outside this small issue I have.
His big problem was end product. He'd get in behind and go through on goal quite often but you never felt he was going to score. Looking back, it's weird to remember how often that team used to have forwards running in behind on goal. Bowen and Grosicki were always at it. Now it's hard to imagine us ever having a striker or winger go clean through.
I think Baz has been fairly critical so far this summer, pretty sure the podcast took a bit of stick on twitter for being too negative even before the news of the embargoes came out. He's put out a few opinion pieces criticising the club and saying we can't afford to make the same mistakes as last summer as well. I get the impression he is fed info from the club on the basis that he isn't the one to report it first. Often when other outlets have broken news, he is then quick to confirm it. I guess he would lose his sources is he did otherwise. Although like others have said, Humberside have been far more critical of the owner this summer. Even after the embargoes, he seemed to be playing it down, based on what the club were feeding him. One thing that does irritate me about him is when we are rumoured to be signing a player e.g. 2 million for Burstow, he is quick to say "they are paying far less than that" then later on he will drop into an article that we actually did pay 2 million for Burstow. That example may be incorrect but he's definitely done it in the past.
