I'd have kept Edozie tbh. Thought he did well last time up until his injury. Leaves us a lot to do in the wide positions.
I think it leaves us with BBD, Fraser, Dibling, Armstrong and Robinson (with the caveat that even a couple of those might still go)
Yeah but we're all assuming Dibling will go. BBD isn't a wide player imo, Robinson is a kid and as much as I've liked what I've seen it would be a risk to rely on him. Which leaves us Frazer and Arma. The former should be back up and I think there's still a bit of noise round Arma? That's far off a title challenging set of players imo, and not sure adding one which I'm sure we will changes that.
BBD & Fraser not good enough and Dibling will likely go. Armstrong and Robinson good options but not sure either are natural wide players.
Meh, fine about Edozie. Very average player based on what I've seen. Penny for the thoughts of SAA though
I'm not assuming Dibling will go. I think he might well stay. Can't see someone coughing up what we'd want this year - loads of talent, but not shown enough in terms of performance (or mentally) for someone to risk 40-50 on him. Next season perhaps.
Don’t think title is what they are concerned about tbh. They’ve appointed a bloke who looks like and has the same communication ability as Beaker from Sesame Street. Trimming the squad down I think is primary order of business this summer then seeing where we are at when we have managed to do that. Then aim for the playoffs Most of our players are much of a muchness so it was just seeing who actually had some interest from other clubs. Edozie is a typical young winger imo. Has the talent to beat a man pretty easily (even in the PL when he first joined he could go past people pretty easily) but final ball and consistency was lacking. Like most wingers if he can put it all together and be consistent he’ll be playing for a top side, if he can’t he’ll probably be floating around lower end top flight clubs for his career
I had seen Robinson and Edozie sharing the bulk of game time on the left. He is easily ahead of the BBD we’ve seen. Fraser remaining an impact option from the bench. And then only Armstrong and Dibling options on the right. And given Dibling, Armstrong, BBD and Fraser all might go still, it means we have a hell of a lot of work to do to not only bring in starter quality but depth on both wings. Not to mention the market we’ll be looking in will be with at least one eye on potential to step up to the PL next season.
Lets not forget we still have the loan market. So many examples of wingers in particular making a difference at this level and we will be a really attractive landing spot.
Yeah he might well do but I still think it's more likely than not personally. Can see it being late in the window.
Well if they're not concerned about the title then that's a huge problem in itself as far as I'm concerned as that absolutely should be the aim.
Yeah this. There's also the chance at a David Brooks type, which would be an upgrade. I'd be talking to City about Nypan or Echeverri for the AM role.
Really? SR may well have got plenty wrong along the way but I believe Still will have been told that the aim is automatic promotion, especially so if Leicester get a points deduction. There's still a month of the window remaining, I will reserve judgement on the squad once that is up. I'll also reserve judgement on Still until at least 5-10 games in to the season.
To add to this I can't envisage a situation where both Dibling and Matty are lining up for us against the skates. And I think we'd accept considerably less for the former.
