I’m not going to worry about which players we can keep hold of, which ones we can get rid of etc when the season hasn’t even started yet <doh> ffs

But whatever floats your boat I guess.

We play with 3 central midfield players.

We have Ampadu, Stach, Longstaff, Tanaka, Gruev and Aaronson. I would say they are a strong 6 for a bottom half team. Not sure we need any more unless you offload a few.

    Nice thread Matt!!!

Kessie is a bit of a shock if true, but genuinely can't see how he improves the squad for the money he will demand ... can't see him wanting anything less than at least £120k a week and Ahli paying off the balance of his wages ... Leeds won't create a dressing room where there is a huge imbalance in wages towards one player

I have no doubt that 49ers will leverage Rangers in the transfer market and vice versa if needed ... they took Rothwell to Ibrox after all, he's a quality signing for the Scottish Prem ... if Feyenoord are really keen on the Rangers player, there will definitely be talks about linking the two to get it done

Paixao looks like a proper talent, and not just because he is quality, but because he seems to work hard ... one thing about Dutch football is they expect their players to be disciplined and to put in the graft ... they're all about constantly improving both technically and maturity

Raphinha's journey from an unknown at Rennes to being Brazil's star player and future Ballon d'Or winner will light a clear pathway for Paixao to follow, and he will know that joining Leeds will be a good thing for him ... globally, Leeds are way bigger than Marseille so there's that as well

Add to this the fact that MArseille are a turbulent club where anything can happen tomorrow, and you wonder why Paixao would choose them over Leeds and the global shop window of the Prem ... two really good seasons at Leeds and he starts for Brazil alongside Raphinha and gets a £100m move to Citeh, Bayern, Barca or Real ... it's a no brainer for the kid, hope his agents advise him properly, but they won't and he'll be told failing in Chumps Lge is better than Leeds

L'Equipe in France also now reporting that Leeds have gone in with a higher offer, so it's close to decision time for Feyenoord ... they are going to demand significant add ons, and rightly so, but 49ers need to get this done quickly now so the lad can get into his Leeds groove and be ready to destroy Everton

On the Calvert-Lewin front (DCL to y'all) it's looking like a race between Toon, Vile and AC Milan ... can't see Milan throwing £100k a week at him, so more likely to go to the Prem club that pays the most ... Liverpool are selling Diaz to Bayern, so they will be able to go after Isak at Toon, but can't see how DCL is a proper replacement for the Swedish goal machine ... I'm just please

I’ve openly admitted on a few occasions that I’d never heard/knew nothing about him until the speculation started. My personal preference (no rumours or links so not meaning to get the hares running) would be Reiss Nelson at Arsenal, known PL quality.
