Good Morning. It's Tuesday 29th July, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Leeds lose out on Paixao Olympique Marseille have won the race to sign highly rated Brazilian winger Igor Paixao from Leeds United's grasp. They managed to raise additional funds, enabling them to meet Feyenoord's demands with a €30m initial bid, complemented by €5m in performance-based add-ons. Paixao had always expressed his preference for a move to Marseille over Leeds, drawn by the allure of European football, favourable climate, and idyllic beaches. While Leeds recruitment chief Adam Underwood must be commended for pushing hard to secure the dynamic attacker, Marseille's package ultimately proved impossible to resist. Fabrizio Romano confirms the details of the deal, with Marseille paying an initial £26m to secure Paixao's services before potentially forking out another £4.3m as add-ons are triggered. This marks a significant transfer coup for the Provence-based outfit as they bolster their attack with the exciting Brazilian prospect. please log in to view this image Four time Bundesliga champions like up Schmidt move Werder Bremen are poised to bolster their squad with another signing from the Whites. According to a report from Patrick Berger of Sky Germany, the Bundesliga club has reached an agreement in principle for the services of Isaac Schmidt. The deal for the Swiss international is structured as a season-long loan, although there has been no confirmation on whether the agreement includes an option for Werder Bremen to make the transfer permanent at the end of the season. Schmidt will be following a familiar path to Germany. He is set to join Leeds teammate Max Wöber, who also made the switch to the four-time Bundesliga champions earlier this month on a similar loan deal that notably includes an option to buy. For Schmidt, the motivation behind the move is clear, securing first-team football. With the World Cup on the horizon, the versatile 25yo wants to keep his international ambitions alive. He needs minutes under his belt, game time he won't necessarily get at Elland Road next season. please log in to view this image Getafe join race for wantaway striker Mateo Joseph has become the subject of significant transfer interest since refusing to join up with the Leeds squad for their pre-season tour of Germany. According to Spanish media outlet L’Esportiu, La Liga outfit Getafe have reportedly submitted an offer for the 21-year-old forward. They join Real Betis in the pursuit of the young Spaniard. Betis have held a long-standing interest, having previously seen a £10m bid rejected in January and a subsequent loan offer turned down last week. However, similar to Betis, Getafe is reportedly hesitant to meet Leeds valuation of €14m for Joseph, who still has three years remaining on his contract. Joseph has made his intentions clear, expressing a strong desire to leave Leeds this summer and return to Spain. This stance was underscored by his refusal to join the club’s pre-season training camp in Germany, as Daniel Farke’s squad prepares for their Premier League return. Farke has reiterated that Joseph will only be permitted to leave if a club meets their asking price. This statement, however, marks a shift from Farke’s position just two weeks prior, when he asserted that Joseph was not for sale at all. Joe Gelhardt and Patrick Bamford have already been told that they have no future at Elland Road, and whilst the club are hoping to prise Rodrigo Muniz away from Fulham, they'll be conscious that they are thin on the ground on goal scorers. please log in to view this image
Strange one as he has been injured for the last 3 months approx. He's only been at Roma 12 months and did ok, they paid more than the figure mentioned above, and he still has 4 years left on his contract. So unless there is a reason that Roma want rid, I couldn't see us getting him for that price.
Tickets are going to be hard to come by this season. I was 2200 in the queue (wife was 16000) for the Everton game and I could only get one ticket because the allocation had already been sold. It was rare to get 2200 in the queue last season but at least you guaranteed a ticket.
Out of interest, how long are you in a queue for at the 2200 position I’m 20 minutes in a queue of 4 when calling the doctors !!
We are now being linked with anyone who played wing in the school team. Agents are touting their players and the rumour mill is crazy and not worth the hassle. Suggest you stick to the places where you have usually got kosher info. The usual clickbait sites are a joke
Yep, silly season incoming. You can cut through alot of the nonsense if the move just doesn't add up.
Kind of worry though that there isn't more "noise" about a possible striker/No 10/winger With less than three weeks to go before the opening game of the season.
Not really, the 49rs & RB has mostly done their transfer business quietly. Seems whenever our targets get leaked, someone else sneaks in (Sunderland and OM).
