    "IF" is going to be the buzzword of our transfer window, i guess we'll never really know what's going on. Ironically Gallagher seems like a Howe type of player, and he'd be great in the squad given the amount of games we have. Maguire isn't a bad player, just tarnished by mistakes of old.

    Agree mate.

    The encouraging thing is they have clearly gone in for players who would be instant first teams upgrades. Which we've all been crying out for. The downside is, every big team in Europe had their eyes on those same players for rhe same reason - and we've simply been outbid by bigger fish.
    But at least it's not through lack of ambition.

    The issue, as you've said before, is more with the scouting network, not finding the 'gems' who have gone under other radars, or the future talent who could be in the first yeam in say 1 or 2 years. Although we have signed a fair few youth players in the last year, so who knows.
