Surely you can't not attribute some blame to Howe for this window given how much say he supposedly has in transfers. If Nickson and the scouting team have identified targets and Howe's said "nah", then he has to be part of the problem?

IF he has - and that's the issue, none of us know, so people make their own views up. What IF Howe is the reason why we haven't signed DCL, Maguire & Gallagher, because he felt they weren't right?
Exactly my point. But it's all ifs, buts and guesswork that manifests into someone either has or hasn't done a good job. Bottom line is, we don't know what discussions have taken place behind the scenes, or who has said / done what.
Depends on who it is and what position they play in I suppose. If he’d rather spend the money on a different position or that the player has different traits to match what he envisions how he wants to play. Also if they just rock up and say here’s this bloke he’s 36 and wants £509k a week but he’s a twat then he’s quite within his rights to say no.
Yup - DCL isn't a Howe player. He doesn't work hard enough. That's why he wants to sign the likes of Sesko
It is, but we need 4 or so players and haven’t signed them, and Howe seems to suggest that there are very few players in the world who are better than Pope, Wilson, Schar, Longstaff, etc., which is absurd.
