It’s the 80/81 and 81/82 kit (black collar).

We stuck with those thick stripes for years as we plummeted down the divisions.

I meant the late 70s/ early 80s when we fell from Division 2 to Division 4.

81/82 was the final year for that type of kit which we’d worn from about 75.

With you saying continued thought meant we continued wearing them after 82.

Can anyone out there settle this dispute?
Last plus 30,000 crowd for a sporting event in Hull?
I thought it was for Hull City v West Ham, FA Cup, Boothferry Park, about 1972, attendance 32,000?
Someone ( well known local author) claims is was actually for GB v Australia, RL Test also at Boothferry Park, 1982? 32,000+? Although the official attendance given for that game is 26,000, according to a source on here.
Anyone cast any light on it?

I highly doubt the capacity of BP was anywhere near 32,000 in 1982. :emoticon-0138-think

    Good point, well made.
This needs clarifying because someone is researching for a book on our history and this may well be in it.

I think the capacity was 32,500 at the time. Which is why some deluded RL fans claimed that was how many were there when the figure was 26,771. Never been over 30,000 for a RL game in Hull. Largest was 28,000 for a Rovers v FC game at BP when City offered the stadium to KR to help them out as the were having difficulties at the time.
