Decent piece from Gilesy on HullLive this morning, excited to see what he can do under the new gaffer.
Ultimately, It’s a win win for everyone if Giles does well this season. We get the player we thought we would and he gets to earn a move to the kind of team he thinks he should be at.
Sorry Syd but you really are stooping pretty low to find criticism of Pandur . It’s not just ‘saves’ , his positioning and handling made a massive impact throughout the season and I would say those skills prevented ‘ notable saves ‘ being avoided . The fact he let a few more in and in your opinion wasn’t very good later was predominantly due to too much defending going on and less positive play , plus it could have been the quality of opposition faced,
I wouldn’t say it’s low, he wasn’t at his best but he did let in a very soft goal on the final day. Not much he could do about the surrounding goals conceded though mind, Derby & Preston he had no chance, penalty that wasn’t a penalty at Swansea. Matt Grimes volley… that’s the harsh part from Syd’s point but he didn’t have his usual influence of keeping us in the game
Gilo will just come into form and Acun will loan him to one of his mates for a fee of 50p a week. No left back no problem.
I think im a bit tired of reading negatives about the club the owner and what seems almost every squad member , . Nobody has the perfect bunch or club .
I'm not stooping anywhere. People are slagging the defence and suggesting Pandur made them look better than they were which is rubbish. "Too much defending" was exactly the original point being made ffs! Our defence wasn't the issue the attack was.
The defence was pretty good I agree but it appeared you were blaming Pandur which without the rest of the ‘story’ didn’t realise you were defending the defence . The attack was almost non existent but the tactics didn’t help .
The tactics were the way they were because our defence was our strength. And we stayed up so it worked.
Our current back 5 which will start the season is stronger than our back 5 that finished last season. Better full backs and better cover if Hughes/Egan get injured.
The laughable thing is that there are far worst clubs for not paying bills, worse things going on elsewhere and practically every club is relying on a rich owner to bank roll them. We just happened to get caught because of a missed payment which is either really sloppy or a genuine misunderstanding. We will soon know which it was after the appeal.
