Mitchell's comment, made early in his tenure, highlighted his belief that the existing transfer strategy was inadequate for the modern game and needed significant changes.
He was ****ing fired, like a clown out of a cannon at a circus. Told to shut the **** and pocket his cash by being a good boy.
They didn’t like what he was saying and he wasn’t toeing the line. So they (Eales and co who are doing a terrible job right now of recruitment) got rid?
He wasn't fired anyway he just left and Howe has admitted he found him leaving difficult because he's been doing things he's never had to do before.
He highlighted the need for a more strategic and wider-reaching scouting network, especially with FFP regulations.
Everyone in football knows we are a complete and utter mess right now. I don’t know if we can blame Howe or not. We don’t have enough info. But it’s still a big mess.
Paul Mitchell was quite simply correct and people don't like being told such things by someone new to the club, but it doesn't alter the fact he was right.
Yeah him not turning up for work, and when he did rocking up late and not getting on with staff around him played no part in such a sudden departure with no other job on the horizon. His decision to reneg on Isaks new contract which pissed off a certain individual who is currently in the north east played no part in this what so ever.
This is all Craig Hopes story like I say, but he probably did piss people off by telling them the truth. He's seen what recruitment should look like and that's the key.
What is certainly true is that Paul Mitchell said the recruitment was not for for purpose and he highlighted the need for a more strategic and wider-reaching scouting network.
The first part which he should have kept in house. The second bit he claimed and again should have been an in house discussion. He did nothing except disrupt the management level of staff. And you wonder why hes not still with us?
That’s a fair point. If he did promise Isak and contract discussion and then didn’t come back then that’s just ****. I don’t think he’s was a good one. Sounds to me from the grapevine he was a fraud. But he didn’t make good first impressions. Having said that why was he hired. By Eales. Who is doing a **** job.
Rumour is he is here to meet the new CEO in person and is here to find out what the **** is going on. He won't like how his investment is being run.
