That's a lot of detail in the article regarding the structure of the deal. If it isn't true they've certainly gone the extra mile to make it sound credible. I hope this is one they have got right and tbf they've been linking him to us all summer
I don`t think many of us would have suggested after the final whistle went at Wembley that we would have signed Xhaka and would be debating a striker from Real Madrid who was described as a "goal machine" in "monstrous form"...what the **** is going on! Bring back Charlie Wyke or Stephen Fletcher level signings please - this is all too much!
No perfection assumed. And if KLD has finalised a deal I can't see that being a problem. Probably using all of our assets, including personal ones. We'll see, but I wouldn't read too much into it. We are doing a lot of the same things, but at a much bigger level. All bar Xhaxa will have a resale value, possibly a profit in some cases. The attendant risks are obviously higher, but personally I don't see another approach which gives us a chance. We had a young team, and one which was quite a long way off the top two, which implies a lot of improvement required. There is nothing in any of it to me that suggests a shift in culture or a lurch into high risk. I'm pretty sure that Cirkin, Neil, Patto, Hume, Eli, Isidor, Rigg will all feature, if they all want to stay. Nothing is ever perfect mate, and we are a long way from it. But we are lucky to be able to try and do it this way IMO.
Those people, a few months back, who said the club was a joke, KLD was a thief and they wouldn't renew their SCs ... ... must be wondering how they'll actually get into any of our games this season.
Hmm that doesn't sound right to me... I can't see Leverkusen playing someone they have already agreed to sell, and risk an injury potentially scuppering the deal, in a meaningless friendly? I watched that game and there wasn't any kind of finality to it or saying goodbye etc, when he got subbed it was just an ordinary substitution. Plus Romano gets his info very quickly, I'm almost sure the club would have given him the green light to release it pretty much as soon as the deal was done. The loose ends and confirmation from clubs etc is what will come in the following days, until it's on the official SAFC site, no? Edit: not that any if this really matters of course, just interesting to think about how these things work
There's absolutely nothing to suggest he'll do that. The club has never been in a better position in living memory ... ... can't we just enjoy it while we can?
