Absolutely over the moon with this signing. Not only because of the experience and reputation but hopefully this helps with other high profile signings that we’re trying for that shows we are now a serious football club - a special project!!

I didn’t say he was waiting to fly to Uk. If you read my post, I asked if there were any flights from Zurich <doh>

OK mate, I just didn’t want
You started it, if you don’t like it give it a rest and show some respect …

… what you do is post ‘facts’ then blame ‘reports’ if they’re wrong.

But when a long standing genuine poster puts the truth on here, there’s people trying to discredit what hes posted. He goes to games, was at Wembley and dozens of posters know him.

Just because you don’t it doesn’t make him a liar.

Stop the sarcasm and digs then it’s done …

… I’ve don't hold childish grudges, didn’t I’ve sort you a Hearts ticket or am I thinking of someone else.

It is how I see it. Diarra, Xhaka and Le Fee I would expect to be 1st team regulars and bring a lot of quality and experience. Talbi, Sadiki, Adingra are very much to be proven. Could be stars, could struggle.

A couple more in the first bracket needed. A CB and a CF would be my aim.

It was a stopover to the UK <laugh>

I’d imagine it wasn’t an hour long in depth conversation though!

Cam posts journalist reports on the transfers they are the most reliable source of information for transfers that’s a fact. Doesn’t mean it’s always right. Just because you don’t know them doesn’t mean they’re lying right?

this weird ****ing mentality of well Malaga has been on here ages and goes to the games he can’t lie!

well I go to all the games and have done for a long time too, does that mean I can’t ever lie?

either way, if Xhaka was in Zurich which I will give him the benefit of the doubt of despite not being fully sure, which I said at the time, it doesn’t link to him signing today. That’s all.

    Posts the truth?

He came on and said he'd spoken to Xhaka in Zurich who was about to fly to the UK. Less than 2 hours later he was in training pictures with Bayer.

So he clearly wasn't about to fly to the UK. Hence why loads of us doubted whether it was the truth.

Just because he was at Wembley doesn't mean he can't spout ****e. And just because you (another person who loves spouting ****e), say you know him also doesn't make what he said true.

Fact is, he clearly said he was on a stopover in Zurich before heading to the UK, which was proven to be wrong.

He doesn’t lie because he doesn’t lie, end of story.

He doesn’t need the likes of you to give him the benefit of the doubt.

I have known for over a month. When I started the Toblerone thread Xhakas agent got on the blower straight away and asked me if we liked Swiss things in Sunderland. I sent him a pick of my Swiss Army Knife from my allotment shed. He was hooked. KLD will take the credit no doubt, or Jonnie come lately Ghisolfi. But this one is down to me.

I didn’t call him a liar I said I was sceptical due to the timings that’s all it was. Then yesterday you were saying I couldn’t possibly know the fees involved and if there was a gap but I was saying that’s what had been reported. Also no that wasn’t me you sorted a ticket for

Fair play, I hold my hands up. I never thought we'd get this over the line (years of cynicism borne of poor club management). It feels like a gamechanger for the rest of the window, in terms of other quality players' willingness to be persuaded by the project. A fantastic signing and well done to KLD and all concerned.

Perhaps Xhaka was being careful about what he said, especially as he had his agent with him …

… I’ll allow the counsel for the prosecution to provide more training videos and claims from dozens of journos, all with different versions of their truth.

Wow, we're signing Xhaka and people are bitching with each other.

Take any ITK stuff with a pinch of salt lads, makes life much easier.

A player with the footballing intelligence of Xhaka in front of the back 4 could really help us have more of the ball, providing Diarra and ELF step up to a similar standard. The space he will create for the other two midfielders will be night and day with what Dan could offer in my opinion. Not to bring those ****s up the road into what is a tremendous coup for us but we’ve all seen the difference bringing in a top player (Bruno Guimaraes) can do for those around him. Obviously still a huge step up and we’ll likely be on the back foot plenty but if we bring in a top CB who’s composed and good on the ball having Xhaka in front of him we’ll have a good foundation of playing out from the back.

Irregardless of his age this is a next level signing for the club and a massively important one. If we can attract a player of Xhaka’s reputation it shows that KLD is really selling the excitement of the project that we’re building and I’ve no doubt that future targets will be more inclined to come having players of that ilk already here.

Do you see us going 433 in that case?
If 4231, who sits alongside Xhaka? Le Fee?
