The path will stay if they’re good enough though…? There is no way we sign enough players that block it before the end of the window. Brown will be in the 18 until the end of Aug at least…
How many youngsters have we brought through or given proper minutes to under Acun? Fleming under Shota is the only one I can think of. His desperation for instant success and signings for the sake of it just blocks all paths. So that gives Brown 5 games, if the club genuinely believes in him, then that's nowhere near enough. What happens after August, does he just fade into the abyss until next pre-season? If we're going to commit to developing players from the academy, we've got to give them minutes over a prolonged period of time. I like the look of McCarthy and Tinsdale too, and whilst they don't have to start every week, giving them 15-20 cameos to ease them in is a good way to see if they're up to it.
I thought Burstow looked reasonable on a wing so not sure why people are losing their minds over him playing there in parts.
Where has it been quoted that he has had a change of mind and is going to 'commit' to youth, they're only played preseason due to not having any players. I'm not saying it's right and I think we should be but nothing indicates he's changed his mind.
You don't have to start the youngsters coming through every week, i think we should bring them through to we have some potential talent as i said awhile back Burstow and Joseph may improve under the new manager and get a chance and i think he will give the younger players a chance Brown, McCarthy and he already likes the look of a few of them and we have cup matches to which i hope they get a chance and the manager takes serious. Truth is we don't know what this manager will do with the squad he has but it is better he has options in case we have bad luck like we had last season.
The ban comes as a result of the club accumulating 30 days or more of late payments in a 12-month period. The punishment relates to the loan transfers of Louie Barry and Fin Burns, while the EFL has had other concerns about the club's finances, and its ability to keep up the repayment of more than £20m worth of outstanding transfer payments to other clubs. first I've heard £20m outstanding although I don't read every post
Obviously but he didn’t look out of his depth physically, he kept the ball well and was key in the big chance we created in the first half. We can’t write him off because of that. He was the best player on the pitch in his 30 min cameo against Kasimpasa
I agree that’s what we should do early doors, if they’re upto it keep them around, if they’re not loan / develop with the first team til Jan then re assess
Basically fees we owe, but seems a bit like scaremongering to me. Nowadays you spread transfer fees over a player's contract so I've no doubt every Championship club will owe a reasonable sum out.
Ryan Giles is a natural left back who hasn't lived up to the standards based on when we signed him. When he's had consistent game time in the Championship, he's racked up seasons with 11 and 9 assists. Burstow and Joseph may be able to do a job on the left, but it's not their natural position. They don't really run at their man, or get to the byline and whip the ball in. And as has been mentioned previously, neither does Kamara, and I'd definitely be interested to see how he would play if he was more centrally.
And even if we sign him and all of these other players who are apparently queueing up to join us, how many of them will be ready to start v Coventry? Might as well get used to the squad we had at Stockport being the one that starts the season for us.
Yeah, I’m certainly not ITK or claiming this is the case, but that is what you’d write about a club that’ll soon be available for £1. Hopefully we’ll see some clarity soon.
The concern to me is that we've already got our income for Philogene and Greaves. So where's the 20m coming from?
Well there's hopefully £3m for Jones over the next few years, £1.5m for Alzate, £500k for Macca, money for Smith, Mehlem, Racioppi, Simons, Jacob loan fee, Omur loan fee (?). Then no doubt some more at some point when we move more on. The cash flow seems to be the crucial point, as long as we have fees coming in we'll be able to make the payments out, which sounds like will be our defence in this appeal.
