Nothing at all except the usual media speculation and talk about those we've already apparently bid for ... ... I'd say the Xhaka deal will happen. One of the posters bumped into him, by chance, and he intimated that he wants the deal done. If the fee was too far away Leverkusen would've killed the speculation but they clearly haven't. They're now backing off what they were claiming they wanted.
Spot on 1 me too 2 neither understand nor care, just interested if they play for us and are they better than what we have 3 the only clicks I care about are in my gardening jumper 4 it seems this keyboard warrior stuff has become prevalent here, just like it did otr, no need imho, adults should be able to debate their differing opinions without playground type stuff. 5 ffs just **** off, don’t threaten it just do it and don’t let the virtual door smack your arse on the way. 6 these precious types should have grown up in the sixties then they’d know how to settle a disagreement. 7 ditto 8 best number on here 9 I’m already there, and honestly m8 you become a ****, complaining is now a hobby of mine 10 well done for getting nine actually.
On Sunday evening, Bayer's sports executive director Simon Rolfes speaks clearly about the quarrels over Xhaka in the belly of the Ruhrstadion: "There will be a decision this week. Granit's side knows about the conditions under which a transfer is possible. If that doesn't happen, he'll stay.” AFC Sunderland must increase supply Xhaka has long since agreed with the English first league promoted AFC Sunderland on a three-year contract with an option for another year. In Leverkusen, the 32-year-old's contract runs until 2028. The problem, as with all exploratory talks or negotiations with other clubs before: Sunderland is not yet willing to pay the required transfer fee. Bayer 04 wanted to redeem at least 20 million euros. In the meantime, it seems that even a sum just below that would suffice. According to information from the "Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger", Bayer 04 assumes that an agreement will be reached with the English this week. This would finally end the unspeakable spectacle. Otherwise, it will be exciting to see how Xhaka will come to terms with a stay in Leverkusen.
Bayer were initially claiming they wanted 'at least 20m€' ... ... they're now saying less than 20m€. I know we all want the deal done, and more players signed, but the club are clearly a million times better at these negotiations than we were ... ... Ghisolfi, Speakman and KLD are really giving this window all they've got and RLB is obviously involved. Whatever happens I think we'll have given this season a real go.
FWIW, I stand by the belief that I think we should pay close to what they want for Xhaka. I really do think he’s worth the fee and is exactly what we need. Sounds like we might go close to it and get it done hopefully
€20m including add-ons as well in the latest report so initial outlay could be considerably less. Hope it gets done!
Supporters, if they're keen on a player, will always say 'just chuck the extra millions at it and get the deal done'. That's fine but the club have put the finances into the best state they've ever been in. Sometimes you just have to trust the club to do what they thinks right ... ... in fact we have no choice do we We have an elite set up now and won't have our pants pulled down so I'm confident. We had the Lauriente deal sorted, appears we were messed about, and pulled the deal and sent him home. I like that!
Wonder why Regis didnt replace Neil last summer, or in January? Wonder why he put so much trust in Neil across the entire season? Wonder he kept praising his game intelligence and awareness? Honestly mate, opinion etc, but If Neil is a problem in a Regis style we must have been incredibly lucky to run the top 3 so closs for so long, to build the sort of team ethos under his captaincy that got us the till the end tag, and to have the mental fortitude to deal with that first 20 minutes at Wembley and get promoted.
I think RLB was hoping Samed would have took to the team better than he did. I just don’t agree that he fits the side and he slows our midfield down just like it was last season and even then it was slow and tedious to watch Just my opinion mate
They’d be spread over, as they’d have triggers to hit which we wouldn’t know were hit at start. Most likely with Xhaka they heavily linked to staying up.
