Again, I only watched the pens. I knew it would be poor fare as a game, so had zero interest in watching the 120 mins. Much better pens from England this time. Even the best players can miss a pen, we all know that, but the first Spanish pen was awful, just looked lazy
I watched from 20minutes to full time. Spain were miles better of what I saw of the first half and deservedly a goal up. But credit where credit is due. Our lot ran and ran and ran 2nd half, their attitude overcame Spain's undoubted superior ability. The commentators were a total embarrassment, unbelievable lamp oil at times. Came back from my walk to read 'England won the Euros' on penalties. Can't believe now I watched 70minutes but there's something about an England shirt.
Englands grit and determination overcome Spain’s superior skill but they were helped by Spain’s inability to capitalise on their many chances.
I have to say that I thought England were a bit lucky to win but fair play in that they never gave up the game. Spain had so many more chances to score but at times were very poor in the finishing department and eventually that is what cost them dearly. Our penalty taking went up a notch from the last horror show and when you have a player between the pipes who comes up with the saves needed to give her and her team-mates the European Championship. Well done ladies.
disagree i am now an expert on tits and fanny football and Hannah Hampton between Englands sticks wasnt chucking her self all over the show keeping England in it Spain were getting as far as Carter and Williamson in front of Hampton and running out of ideas. pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass chuck a sponge at the box and back to pass pass pass pass pass versus Englands miles better and superior at defending.
Bloody brilliant those girls have done more in the last six years than the overpaid prime Donna’s in the men’s team. Absolutely brilliant well done the girls
