I actually used to drink in Durham with a lad who was a turncoat from Skunks to us believe it or not. His son decided to follow Sunderland at a young age, and he had to take him to matches and he eventually became a Sunderland fan. True story.

Well, the Vikings were pretty big travellers, so I guess it could be possible some ended up around the Horn of Africa 1000 years or so ago and did a bit of their customary rape and pillage, ultimately begetting him. Pretty big long shot, though. Maybe we should get him onto "Who Do You Think You Are?" to find out?

Never a Sunderland supporter then. I could understand it if it was the other way around, due to them being easily led and susceptible to suggestion. But never ever from Sunderland to Newcastle.

It's true. He supported Sunderland because his older brother Phillip did (and still does). He got grief off other kids in junior school and turned to the dark side.

I wondered if "Famous number nine" got an airing and I wasn't disappointed

If I was Isak I'd move my flight forward after watching that, Liverpool is too close to the cringe epicenter

He does seem like a T**t mind. For all his outrageous promise, he was stuck a bit.

Think he had one pretty good year in Spain, I can't remember. But the Saudis took a risk of sorts in signing him. Now, Eddie has gone from certain- no story here- to confident, to hopeful.

If it was Ashley, there would be a lot of shop shouting, verbal abuse, wild ranting all over the ether and much media criticism of the owner.

But I see no burning keffiyehs, no public demos, no questions in the HOC, no media outcry.

    So odd that.....

Just wait, if they have a poor season it'll happen. There's a few cracks appearing now.

They loved Ashley at first when he was in the stands at away games with them in his mag top and bought drinks in pubs around Newcastle city centre. They turned on him after Keegan left and he wouldn't spend stupid money to keep them happy.

Honestly, if they have a poor transfer window and don't replace Isak then end up having a poor season, they'll turn on the Saudis. They've built themselves up since the takeover that they won't be able to handle it if things go wrong, so they'll lash out.

Fancy turning up in Edinburgh in your black and white shirt at a pre-season friendly, sitting with the Hearts fans and kissing your NUFC badge at the Sunderland fans :emoticon-0127-lipss

    That is so genuinely sad.

There must be some sort of help these people can get.

Funny how they never go in the Sunderland end in their Newcastle shirts isn't it?
