You are trying to say Howe wants too much control yes? Firstly we don't know that, secondly if you are saying he is in charge of recruitment then he has basically got every signing spot on so far..you could say Wood didn't work, but then look what he did at Forest.
I'm saying I believe Paul Mitchell because he knows what it should look like. That's not unreasonable. Or he's just this awful guy like he's been labelled
A counter argument would be that he's saying Dan Ashworth had it all completely wrong - and he came with a big reputation from Brighton, who have been lauded in recent years for their transfer dealings. Not suggesting you are wrong. Just bringing another factor into the equation, to balance the Anti-Howe campaign.
Ashworth left and there was a gap in time before Mitchell came in and howes very public reaction to it.
Quick google search: "Dan Ashworth left Newcastle United to join Manchester United in February 2024. Paul Mitchell then joined Newcastle United as sporting director in July 2024, replacing Ashworth." Don't think that is significant.
So someone wasn't comfortable with a man stepping on his toes. There's plenty can happen in that time.. Like a new contract for example
Ultimately I believe Mitchell has the experience to make a judgement and I don't think the other option is sensical. 1. Mitchell knows what good recruitment in the modern game looks like. 2. He's beezelbub and joined Newcastle to be horrible for no good reason.
Yes, agree he has the experience. Where 'I think' (just my view) he went wrong is coming in all ballsy and loud mouthed, basically publicly announcng that he was going to dictate and be in control. When he then realised the club were backing Howe, he wanted out. What he 'could' have done instead, is come in with a view of working WITH Howe and the scouting / recruitment teams - as a team. Just my view. But regardless, he did himself no favours in terms of warming to the fans by publicly waving his cock around.
You don't know that I've for years posted on the fact Hope is a fantasy journalist that holds up the heads for the crowd. On that though! Do you really seriously believe the reason Isak wants to leave Newcastle and won't stay is because of an alleged non offer by a bloke that left? I don't I think it's as I say fantasy.
Possibly yeah, but I suspect he was facing a brick wall from day one anyway. Regardless whether he should or shouldn't have pointed it out is moot at this point. He was either right based on his experience or he is beezelbub. He's gone and what if he was like I believe correct?
He onky pointed it out AFTER Howe responded to his "I'm in charge, my way or highway" quotes. If he had just gone in, worked WITH his new colleagues and figured out how to help improve things, none of it would have been an issue.
