Can’t say I’m wildly excited by the Lions tour, but hats off to Japan for extending Wales’ losing streak to 18……sorry @Taffvalerowdy
Yes Wales lost in Japan - down to 14th in the World rankings. I got up early to watch the match …. Always likely to lose with so many players away with the Lions ….. Sherrat’s ‘biased’ squad selection and Cardiff centric coaching team are a joke. The CEO Abi Tierney has enabled this - she should resign, but won’t …..
Thought it was one of the best performances of the last couple of years. Great 13 and 14 man defence first half, then slick handling in attack second half
I would like to congratulate Wales on winning a game of rugby after 18 consecutive losses. Well done.
We did our best to repeat last week’s defeat by letting them come back to 24-22, but there were more Ospreys on the park this week and the boys not only held out but scored a decisive try. That said, I don’t see us winning a game in the next Six Nations unless we sign up a top international coach and he can attract Wales qualified players (well anyone who has eaten a Leek should be sufficient to be Wales qualified )
Emperor Hirohito, Yoko Ono, Ken Wantanabe, Izzy Miyake, Shinzo Kagawa, Shiggy Konno …. Your boys took a helluva beating
Brilliant win for England in Argentina 22-17 2-0 series win 3 English Fly-Halves in Australia with the Lions, yet arguably the best of the lot is in Argentina. George Ford - great player
Good come back by the Lions, but they really should be beating this Australian team with plenty to spare. The Aussies have always punched way above their weight in Union, but as far as I remember it’s way down the pecking order in terms of popularity and participation, behind basketball as well as AFL, RL, cricket and football. The current squad is the weakest for decades and the sport is in decline from what I hear - unless having the World Cup and the Women’s World Cup can turn things round. In the state of Victoria where the match was played - must have been great with 90,000 in the MCG - there are zero professional RU players, and I bet a large proportion of the crowd were unsure what they were watching. But being Aussies they would have been quite enthusiastic anyway.
