I’ve always liked Beddie. For me, he’s under-appreciated by the fans. Yes he’s got the odd mistake in him, but he’s been very good at times too. Compared to some of the other CBs we’ve had he’s a model pro. And stayed with us when we went down. Wish him all the best. Deserves the move.
I'm fine with Bednarek leaving so long as THB stays. I wouldn't want to be selling both of them this summer. Fortunately, I'm not expecting any side to make us an acceptable offer for THB.
I wouldn't say I've always liked him; I didn't like the way he went to Villa before returning when things didn't work out there. But fair play, he has kept quiet since then and worked hard, well, compared to the rest of the saints squad (which isn't a massive endorsement). No bitterness from me, he has the ability to do well in the right team. And our squad could do with a mix up... Next! EDIT: Yes I know he's not officially gone yet, but you know what I mean
He certainly redeemed himself after the Villa move. I definitely appreciated him but I feel it's a good time for both parties if he left.
I wish him well but a change in central defence has been long overdue, hopefully Jack will take more of a back seat as well. I'm looking forward to us conceding less than 60 goals this season.
Bednarek was a twat. Redeemed himself when he came back after Villa, so fair play to him, and when he leaves, it'll be on much better terms with most of our fanbases best wishes
Only problem with THB staying and Beddie going (which I’m fine with), is that THB is a bit of a b*ll end and needs to sort himself physically, sort his attitude out and concentrate on being a much better defender. Can’t help thinking he’s got delusions of grandeur and needs to stop believing his own hype…
If THB does stay, he’ll have catching up to do to get Still fit given he’ll have missed pre-season, so doubt he’d be straight in the team anyway. Don’t get the impression he’d be able to get away with his sub standard level of fitness and commitment that he got away with last season either. Time to turn over a new leaf with THB and push on.
Wasn’t he in the Germany World Cup squad at the last World Cup. Ok they bombed but they must have still rated him
Will Still post-Espanyol to the Daily Echo: There are players that need to go, there are players that want to go, there are players that need to come in, and players that need to come in quickly. But the good thing is that everyone's aligned on that, everyone knows that that's the case, and I think that's just shown today. I think when I got here, we spoke in the early days of when I was here, that the squad is going to change. It's too big and there are too many players and there are certain players that want to and probably need to move on, and that's fine. But I think now with two weeks to go, we've seen everyone, we've established who is who and who's going where and who's doing what. Now we need to make a decision and make a cut of who's going to be here and who's not going to be here, and keep pushing towards that. Not just because it's needed and because that's what is best for every individual, but for us as a collective as well.
Wrexham starting to make some moves. Broadhead from Ipswich, Kieffer Moore and Christian Eriksen. Not too far off a possible top 6 challenger like us now I’d say.
Broadhead is an interesting move given he got double figures in his last Championship outing and is still only 27 years old, but Kieffer Moore scored five goals in 30 games for Sheff Utd and turns 33 this year. Christian Eriksen turns 34 this year and will only be going there if nobody good wants him; it sounds like his agent has talked it down already
Saw someone saying Eriksen would probably be the biggest signing in Championship history if it were to happen. Signing old players is their thing, the club is a TV show that plays football on the side. If any player coming to the end of their career and wants to build a bit of a platform/following going into retirement to do some influencer type **** or punditry then Wrexham is an obvious choice even if there are better sides after you. Doesn’t apply to players like Eriksen who were top players in their career, more like Paul Mullin or Ollie Palmer type players who now will be sorted for life on the back of the following they gained from the show.
