Seem to be one of a few clubs interested in Alfie Gilchrist . https://x.com/JacobsBen/status/1946264537235091674
I saw this on X and it said “Watford star “.. https://eflanalysis.com/news/watfor...t-as-top-flight-european-clubs-show-interest/ Then read further down .
Wage demands stop Ashley Young from signing - as most expected. https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/25328634.ashley-young-will-not-signing-watford-summer/
Yes particularly as people complain we pay too much for Sissoko who is younger . Presumably Young was after the same sort of wage ? Although there is this tweet which suggests otherwise. https://x.com/Cutty70/status/1947265345716113686
He fuelled a lot of talk last time and then went where they paid him more . He is 40 for goodness sake
If he goes to Ipswich, I wonder how he'll fare up against the likes of Irankunda - who has the pace of a cheetah.
From Sky . “Watford and St Etienne have made enquiries for Sturm Graz right-back Max Johnston. The Scotland international is in high-demand this summer, with a host of clubs across Europe monitoring his situation. Johnston, 21, has two years left on his contract with the Austrian club”
Two ways of reading this headline - either we snubbed him or he snubbed us. Whichever, I can't believe his claim that he "always wanted Norwich City" - I seriously doubt he had even heard of them. I see that Norwich have also signed the striker who kept Rajovic out of Brondby's starting line up - Mathias Kvistgaarden. Not a bad player... Why Papa Diallo 'always wanted Norwich City' move after Watford snub, Liam Manning was 'very important'
In a fishing scenario, we hooked him and reeled him in, right up to the line then popped him in the keepnet whilst we went after our main (and cheaper) target and once we had caught him we then let Diallo go.
