I don’t agree with us only getting one. it would be mental and I think the club know that too, seelt is proving himself but we haven’t got a single CB at the club proving consistent yet O9 is injured and if he does it again his career could be over hjelde and alese have injury problems and not played consistently seelt is coming back from a major knee injury and hasn’t really played senior football Ballard has injury problems of his own and also has to prove consistency if we don’t sign two CBs I’ll be disappointed personally
I imagine Lucumi is the preferred choice as he’s a LCB which we are crying out for. I don’t think that necessarily means we won’t go for the likes of Diakite or another CB.
I think we can tbh and I reckon the club are probably aiming at it I’m not convinced Lucumi is that close the only articles really are Italian newspapers I really do think Diakite is super close I can personally see us getting both though
I've given up guessing. I thought Diakete might be close at the wekeend and earlier this week but would have expected SOME sort of leak by now. So I still think we could be working on somebody we haven't even been linked to.
Tbf italian newspapers were on the ball with Lauriente when that broke, we only had a report about a bid being rejected for diakite and Bournemouth pulling out and nothing since
the thing that gives me hope on Diakite is them signing a potential replacement yesterday. So if you carry that forward we may be pouncing on a new offer today
He’s done it 3 times and now he’s done it post surgery I’m just saying it could get to the point of him not being able to play anymore and risk doing it again
Yeah last we heard was we were intensifying talks, bournemouth pulled out and are going for another cb and Lille signed a replacement that’s a lot more than we’ve got for Lucumi really
Was it the same shoulder? I genuinely don't know. Just seems a bit of a stretch to even suggest he might have to retire IF it happened again
Surely Arsenal are rich enough that they can afford new shirts and he doesn't need to wear Henry's old ones?
We've also been told that Lucumi is our priority, and we are making a new bid close to their valuation, and they have been looking for replacements, and he has said no to a new deal
James Copley: Why the Granit Xhaka deal is far from dead – but time is ticking for Sunderland https://www.sunderlandecho.com/spor...ad-but-time-is-ticking-for-sunderland-5241701
Looking forward to seeing him in the prem. Looked absolute top quality for Coventry and has a cracking record at Sporting.
Regarding a GK, I think Ortega could be a smart move, wants to be a No 1, been at City a while, decent stats, plenty of experience and wouldn't cost a bomb either. No links other than Burnley atm but...
