It's only pre-season and already so many are talking the team down, making the Wrexham game the be all and end all and wishing our young goalkeeper (and motm) ill. We will be so much better when people properly get behind the team. Really pi$$es me off! One of the most talked about young coaches in Europe. Midfield trio that every other team in the league would be giddy over. Still a very young team full of potential. Starting to shed some of the hangers-on. PLENTY of experience on how to perform at this level. Probably lacking a bit in confidence after a horrible campaign - fans should help with that not hinder.
It’s worth noting that the premier league season concluded three weeks after the championship, so we’ve had a lot less time to work with, which is probably why it might feel like we’re behind schedule. The amount of players we’ve taken to Spain suggests it’s going to be another 45 minutes each for everyone Saturday, so Brighton will be the only chance we will see a few get 90 minutes in. From what I’ve read of Still as a coach and snippets from training is that we’re prioritizing work off the ball(a sound view considering our shocking defensive stats over the last few seasons) I think it’s little wonder we appear disjointed in possession given these circumstances
It's the football fan psychology. Always predict your team to do worse than you secretly expect them to. That way you can still claim a small victory by telling everyone, "I told you so". For me I'm very happy with the squad currently, really excited by Still, and fully expecting us to comfortably be in the top 4 by the end of the season. If I'm wrong, then I admit I'm thick as sh*t and know nothing about football.
Yeah 2nd or 3rd is my prediction. We should have far too much for most teams in this league. As I've said before it all depends on whether Still is up to it. Unfortunately he's not going to get much settling in time with a relatively tough start and the skates ei early on.
I don’t really wish him ill, it was a joke in bad taste. I personally am not very excited atm, but maybe that’s good as it sets the bar low and I’ll be pleasantly surprised.
If anyone has a Daily Echo subscription and fancies posting summaries of the preseason articles that would be great
I think the issue is the echo website. I usually look at the headlines but the Echo website isn’t loading. No 7s link will probably work when they sort it out l
They've been busted - but believe it or not there is a 13ft one out there now. I'm old enough to remember when the Internet was going to be all sorts of information free at your fingertips! I would feel a bit sorry for the companies losing money due to this but as the government has said there is no copyright on material for AI companies, which includes stuff that I do, they can kiss mine, after I haven't wiped too.
You won't find me Baz bashing (not a euphemism ) because I love the bloke, but I take issue with the idea that people not getting behind the team somehow makes even the smallest difference. Those useless ****s were supported in massive numbers home and away last season and still turned in record making ****e performances. If getting behind them achieves **** all, moaning at them won't either. Agree with the point about the midfield trio, but what are the chances they're all here come September? There's way more to worry about then there are positives.
