Matty Young to Salford is probably a good move, you have to remember last season he was competing with Jamie Jones who was considered one of the best League One (a league above Salford today) keepers back when we were fielding Lee Burge. He still managed 20 leagues games for them as a 17/18 year old. If Salford have agreed to put him in this year and he performs well, he goes into the 26/27 season as a 19 year old keeper with 75 men's games under his belt.
Suspect we’ve moved from the early flurry of ‘we expected them to go this summer’ players to ‘they can go if we find a replacement’. It’ll be slow progress from now on.
