Trabzonspor want rid of him, they've got too many foreign players, though it still seems unlikely they'd cough up a large amount of coin to expedite it.
To be fair, if it’s a mutual agreement for it to end, it’ll be a lot less than the value of his contract.
Agree with this, though I think most of it stems from players being seen as 'Acun signings' mostly, so they've got no chance.
Also, you said you don’t mind ‘proven performers’ getting good money. Come on, mate. Lundstram’s 31-years-old and is coming off a terrible season in Turkey where the sporting director openly criticised him for being overweight. He’d be one of the highest, if not the highest, earners if he came. This club cannot continue making the same stupid mistakes every ****ing season. We’re under a transfer fee restriction for a very good reason.
this is what i dont get theres no way he signs for us without a heft wage packet, so how we funding that? and why
https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/hull-city-transfer-state-play-10370800 Hull City are continuing to have talks with potential new recruits despite the uncertainty regarding their ongoing transfer fee restriction appeal. City had hoped to hear the outcome of their appeal against a three-window fee restriction imposed on them by the EFL by the end of the month, but that now looks likely to take place in the first week of August, much to the frustration of bosses at the MKM Stadium. The Tigers can still sign free agents and loan players, and are on the cusp of signing former Sheffield Wednesday defender Akin Famewo, with a deal agreed. They are also expected to bring in former Sheffield United promotion-winner John Lundstram. Lundstram is set to agree a free transfer move from Turkish side Trabzonspor, with the 31-year-old believed to have agreed an initial two-year deal at the MKM Stadium. The ex-Blade is under contract with the Turkish Super Lig side until 2027, but it's understood the Tigers have been able to agree a deal with the Liverpool-born midfielder, which would see him exit his deal early and return to England, where he would link up with former Bramall Lane teammate John Egan. City are also in talks with Lundstram's Trabzonspor teammate Enis Destan. The 23-year-old forward could join the club on a season-long loan to bolster its attacking ranks. The Trabzonspor performer, who agreed a contract extension with the club last February to see his deal run until June 2028, has netted nine times in 51 Super Lig outings, clocking up six assists. Meanwhile, the Tigers have not given up hope of signing Oli McBurnie. The East Yorkshire club have spent much of the summer courting the Scotland international, and it was thought his wage demands would end any hope of the deal coming to pass, but Hull Live understands there is still a possibility the deal could happen. McBurnie, it's thought, remains keen on moving to the MKM Stadium to link up with the likes of Matt Crooks and John Egan - players he knows well, having been impressed by boss Sergej Jakirovic, and that one cannot yet be ruled out. What happens with McBurnie will have a direct impact on Matija Frigan. The Westerlo forward is one of Jakirovic's top targets, but City would be unlikely to sign both this summer. Jakirovic said last week that he felt Frigan was exactly the type of player he wanted in his squad, and felt a move to England would be the next step in the forward's career. Meanwhile, some confusion has surrounded the future of Abdus Omur. Hull Live has reported throughout the summer that the Turkish international was heading to Antalyaspor on a season-long loan, and he has done so. While neither club has confirmed anything, Abdus has since played for Antalyaspor in a friendly, and his season-long loan move back to the Super Lig is expected to be ratified soon. Steven Alzate and Alfie Jones are also expected to complete moves to Atlanta United and Middlesbrough, respectively. Gustavo Puerta's and Reda Laalaoui's futures remain up in the air amid ongoing discussions with the EFL. The club hope they can seek a resolution to both of those with the governing body.
i was for sure too harsh on him last season, he certainly deserves a fresh start and i hope i will be less harsh on any of them when the season starts
He was criticised at the start of the season, but had completely turned it around by the end of the season. Initial Struggles and Criticism: Lundstram's move to Trabzonspor was met with criticism, with some fans and even the club's technical director expressing dissatisfaction with his performances and suggesting he wasn't a good fit for the team. One Turkish commentator went as far as saying he "offers absolutely nothing" and couldn't even be a ball boy. Reports suggested that some fans even wanted his contract terminated due to his perceived poor form. Turnaround and Positive Reception: Despite the initial negativity, Lundstram has become a regular starter for Trabzonspor, playing in various positions, including center-back, and earning praise from fans and media. He has been described as a "new prince" for the club, with Turkish outlet Haber61 stating he has become one of the most trusted names in the team. His improved performances have been linked to a better understanding with manager Şenol Güneş and a willingness to adapt to different roles on the field. He has also scored a few goals for the team, with one particularly notable goal being described as a "coming-of-age performance".
We’re just going to pick up his contract arent we!! Oh ffs Massive weekly wage for us and no sell on fee ****ing mental
Şenol Güneş is the sporting director, not the manager or head coach. This is why you can’t trust Google’s AI Overview.
If people want to pretend to be able to answer someone's question it might be a good idea to proof read and re-write in their own words. Or not respond and wait for someone that does actually know something about the topic.
I haven’t seen that mind. Hopefully if he’s in early we can get him in shape as it looks like it’s happening. We are building the Blades first prem squad by the looks of it. Also wasnt Tufan criticised for similar! Seems to be a go to for the Turkish faithful
To be fair he’s played 2 friendlies for them so far so he’s not playing catch up. Had a slight brain fart there thinking he was a free agent
He’d essentially be a replacement for Alzate except he’s older, has little to no resale value and on higher wages (Alzate is one of our highest other than Giles and Ömür). He’s not a bad player at all per se but this seems like a ridiculous deal that has Acun’s grubby paws all over it. He literally never learns.
Baz has said it’s legit. He also said we’re still trying to sign McBurnie despite the EFL vetoing it and that it’s McBurnie or Frigan now but not both. He seems to suggest that Frigan is Jakirović’s preference but the club have been targeting McBurnie for a while. Acun’s meddling is actually detrimental to this club. I don’t care how but he needs to be prevented from making executive football decisions now whether it’s him selling the club, being arrested in Turkey or hit by a bolt of lightning.
