Yeah Newcastle will struggle to win this battle, they either sell to liverpool, sell to saudi or give him a massive new contract on inflated wages to appease him and by all accounts they have a pretty strict wages structure to try and keep the likes of Gordon, Tonali and Bruno at parity to keep them happy

Be a few knocks for new deals or they will threaten to be away and get what they want like Isak may do

Disagree. Young would’ve been nowhere near a PL squad for us this season, won’t be a huge miss at this stage

 

Liverpool and Arsenal, etc, going all out to beat teams can only help Sunderland in my opinion …

Maybe. But I think they just have to resist . The fall out will be pretty ugly, maybe even some keffiyehs getting burned!

 

Hmmm, maybe, I can recall plenty of dreadful keepers in League 1 whilst we were down there, some of them even played for us. I might be wrong but as inexperienced as Young is I'd hoped he would have been able to be first choice at that level even if it meant him playing in a struggling side.

 

Liverpool will be unstoppable for title if they get Isak

 

If it wasnt for the wages he was on, he probably fits the type of player we are looking at similar play style as Xhaka and Prem experience

 

I have a 2 hour meeting at 11, last time this happened the xhaka news broke so I expect it to be done and dusted when I log back on

 

For a GK i don't see the difference in playing in L1 or L2, unless he was going to get a move to one of the promotion chasing sides

Salford will be pushing for promotion this season, or at least should, so I'd rather that than a mid to bottom half L1 side (mainly because he knows the club and they know him)

 

If Isak is going to leave, they would be better off him going to Liverpool. Leaving for Saudi football has serious implications concerning the Saudis interest in their UK team. Terminal implications IMO.

 

We are only one injury away from Blondy and Moore being our PL keeper and backup. I think Young is better than both of them.

After watching the game against Sporting, I hope Blondy doesn't get anywhere near the 1st team....the positional side of his game is so bad, underlined by their goal... I know its just a friendly..but still
