This. If it really is just a 'minor thigh injury' as reported, then stick him on the plane anyway and treat him out there. FFS.
Yeah that is not a good sign, as Obi says he could easily travel and be treated out there! If he is sold we need to be acting fast to brining in his replacement and others!
Lewis Halls going, and isn’t fit. This charade needs to come to an end, just hope it’s Saudi or PSG. Then again Saudi would make us an even bigger joke - owner strips best asset? **** me. Why do Newcastle make everything so difficult.
on the assumption that the "injury" is fake, I think we need to sell Isak. He must be unsettled / unhappy here to not go on tour. A demotivated Isak will not get us the goals we need next season. We need to sell ASAP so we have time to re-invest. Preferably to Saudi or PSG etc. How would people feel about £100m + Elliot + Nunez for Isak? Of course if the thigh injury news is real then disregard everything I've just typed.
Toon and Eddie "sending him home to get his head right" Howe telling massive porkies. Their customers (us) have a right to know what the f*ck is going on. If they must sell Isak and his dodgy groin, they'd better not flog him to the bin dippers.
I know, but it's something that could happen. We wanted Nunez before he went to Liverpool and Elliot would be a good addition to help with low blocks.
Maybe the delays are in these possible swaps. With PSG it’s Ramos and possibly one other, so you might be right. However we need to sell at this point, it’s going to hamper pre season and needs properly sorted. The issue we clearly have is the ineffective leadership.
Why sell? His contract lasts until 2028. Hold him to the contract he and his Agent negotiated and signed. if he plays silly beggars then drop him. It’s his career he would be ruining. Also don’t think he’s the sort who would down tools. offer him an improved contract on figures we can afford and promise to sell at market price in 2 years time if he still wants to go.
Easy to say, but it could be like Cabaye all over again. Having someone disruptive and angling for a move can unsettle the squad. And we can't afford to just 'drop' him, as we have nobody of note to step in. So while I totally get what you are saying, it's not always as simple as the "Pull your finger out and get on with it" style of management.
The Isak sale to Liverpool is going be painful and the response will make it worse than is needed. The best response is to say **** off Isak, you're made of thin air, and then sit tight and get in some reinforcements before we play Liverpool at home game week 2. If we defeat Liverpool it'll be victory in a way.
Yep. Just what you need. A long distance flight and the associated increase in blood viscosity, when you are trying to treat a muscle injury. But at least it will stop the social media rumours. An easier way might be to actually stop paying any heed to the social media rumours.
It's not just the social media though, it's the unsettling impact all this continued speculation has on the wider squad and coaching staff as well. Right now, Isak showing some unity and being with the rest of the squad - even if he can't play - sends a very strong signal to everyone, including his team mates. But I get that managing blood viscosity takes priority over being a good employee and team player.
