Not the UK, but ****ing hell:
In 2024, there were more home buyers over the age of 70 in the U.S. than under the age of 35, data from the National Association of Realtors (NAR) shows.
Average life expectancy in the US is 77.43. It's just under 75 for men.
46% of homes purchased in 2024 were by those aged 60 and over.

    1. Boomers gotta boom.

    2. I suspect the stats are counting Larry Fink rather than BlackRock.

No additional comment to that other than to say that events suggest otherwise.

I accept that of course, but his continuing 'support' of Netanyahu and the IDF action on so many levels does nothing to dispel the conclusion that he is in hoc to that group. He is now the PM of a Government with a huge majority and potentially 4 more years in power. Time for him to start showing some leadership.

Labour simply can't afford to resurrect the antisemitism accusations.
Farage has taken an extremely pro-Israel position and we all know where it would go.
It would be pointless grandstanding, especially given the US position right now.

Somehow the BBC are blaming social meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeedia for Farage stoking roving gangs of gammony ****s to attack people instead of, oh I don't know, Nigel ****ing Farage?

Perhaps they shouldn't have created a problem they could later claim to have "solved" in the first place?

Who's "they"? The media created the issue and Corbyn ****ed it completely.

The people who failed to get rid of Corbyn with their attempted coup who, by complete coincidence, make up a predictable number of cabinet posts

And it certainly wasn't a media-created issue, as it started with Margaret Hodge performatively screaming at Corbyn in Commons but a media-facilitated one given Hodge rushed to get her version of the story out first, just like the myth of Angela Eagle's office window from the time of the attempted coup

What's wrong with any of that?
They should be doing more to shut down the gig economy and punish business owners, of course.
Dealing with illegal immigration would basically kill off Reform.

There's a very simple problem with it: when all he's saying is "Boats, boats, boats" like Suella Braverman bingo he isn't killing off Farage at all, he's giving Farage oxygen and allowing him to say he'd handle the non-problem better

Seriously, has this country gone completely doolally? I heard the phrase "small boats crisis" the other day, as if that's the biggest issue facing the country instead of things that actually affect people (and nobody is bothering to come up with any suggestions for...) such as the cost of living crisis, it being abundantly clear outside influences are trying to midwife Farage into anything other than a jail cell, or data brokers clearly rubbing their hands in glee at the Online Safety Act giving them free access to peoples data or credit card details

The biggest issue of the day is whatever the media/social media say it is now.
Farage and 2KIP are going to be pushed everywhere and so will Jezbollah, as it's been nicknamed.

I'm with on you the Online Safety Act, though.
I've never seen so much talk of VPNs without it being accompanied by an advert for Raids: Shadow Legends.

It's quite easy to not let the press set the agenda, though, given we've had fourteen years of saying a line has been drawn under the topic and/or it is time to move on and that's what happens. Then again, the easiest way to shut the whole thing down would be to state the obvious: adopt the line that if you say that it's bad then you must be saying that Brexit is bad, which will see Farage tie himself in knots as tends to happen when he's put in a position of having to say something substantive

...which reminds me: it's now emerging that neo-Nazi groups were behind the incident at that Epping migrant hotel. Maybe look for moments where Farage has egged that one on and ask him for a statement decrying this, as that will see his facial expression change at least six times in ten seconds as he tries to work out the weasel words he needs

As for the Online Safety Act, so far my experience has consisted of being told Yvette Cooper is sliding into my DMs every time I log into Facebook, and the verification for Bluesky not working at all which has me somewhat concerned my bank account is down 20p through my attempts at trying to make it work

No, that's what happened under the Tories and even that stopped working.
It's not what happens under a Labour government.
The media have been outraged that everything hasn't been fixed since day one.
