I think the point is more how fees are reported. I’d say there is likely a very good chance of that being the case. £3m reported by Baz, then Boro side reports it as the total package. Ones more favourable to us, ones more favourable to them. Ultimately none of us know
I understand, my point is I would think the 22m we owe doesn't include add ons, while if 3m for Jones does include add ons they might not all be bankable, so reporting the actual fee is much lower is relevant.
It will still be important to look at the final P/L figure, not the operating profit, as Maguire will be wont to do, as Philogene and Greaves' sales will be in these accounts.
The issue more seems to be Acun's ability to pay the money to keep the club running more than anything else. Getting the Jaden & Greaves payments upfront seems like it was the pay for the previous year's reckless spending, but if that was the case, why did we spend recklessly last summer too.
**** me. Page after page of moaning because what? We are selling three players that were signposted we were going to sell before the EFL restriction came into place. Yes it’s far from ideal but no new information has emerged about the state of the appeal or the clubs financial position to warrant this echo chamber of doom and gloom.
The moaning is about the fees we're getting for players some perceive as being worth more than we're selling them for. Seems rather relevant to be discussing player sales and the merits of them in a transfer thread I would have thought.
We 100% need forwards, but the club's recruitment team are in such a tricky position. The EFL taking ages to hear our appeal means we don't know what market we're in. Imagine if we signed a couple of strikers on a free who aren't really at a good enough level, then our fee restriction is suspended/removed? In the ridiculous situation (owner inflicted of course) we find ourselves in, it makes sense to wait for the outcome before going wild with signings surely?
If we signed a cheap forward who would be a good option as a stop-gap and we get the fee restriction removed, then we bring in Frigan and away we go. Worst case we loan out the stop-gap to a League One side. But if we don't get the fee restriction removed..?
I’m not even sure that’s what happened is it? I think he got it staggered and then chose to advance it, pretty sure that’s the quote in the athletic. Which is arguably worse as it means they’ll have probably been given a discount on top of it
Preston had pushed to sign Drameh, offered him a 4 year contract but would not meet our asking price. Although I think this was before news broke of transfer restrictions, but shows we both want to keep him here and aren’t just letting everyone leave?
whats happening with omur? we are paying him a ****ing fortune and hes not even in the country training, pathetic
I read that Antalyaspor who had agreed to sign him are now under an embargo not sure if that's true though
I'd let him go, I know he's had a couple of decent pre-season games but he has brain fart moments pretty much every game and it costs you. After 70 Championship appearances you'd have hoped that rashness would've left his game by now.
