Apart from a nice stadium, and frequent bail outs, his vast fortune hasn’t seen us ever really go for it promotion wise

While I applaud LM for last seasons top 6 finish under tragic personal circumstances, I still maintain it was equally due to the failure of other bigger and more fancied teams that we made the Playoffs

What will happen this season is anyone’s guess but anticipation is growing

I don’t know why anticipation is growing.
    I don’t feel it.
We still haven’t signed a striker or a decent proven goalkeeper - and our first choice GK - although dodgy - is now out for 4 months.
I don’t think we will get relegated but I think the start to the season will be very tough indeed.
Not confident at all. Mid-table finish would be an achievement IMHO.

    Exactly how I feel R&W.
I'm dreading our first game at Sheffield without Dickie, McNally and a keeper.

I’m still hopeful that we will sign another striker and a decent keeper
If we don’t then we could struggle

Absolutely - and we let Wells go - who was far from prolific, but gave us an option.
    I’m extremely worried.

we played the whole season as an above average team that was reasonably good in defence but lacked attacking options.
Almost from the start [ after 12 games ] we were destined to end on a sub 70 points total.

by now I have usually got a good feel for the info/ ratings I put in to form an EOS points... 46 games finish. usually a 4th tranche is before end August and third is around after 2 games..... So far it is a nightmare, teams are strengthening from all angles we seem to be trolling along the bottom 6-8 teams!!!!
Brum and Wrexham look quite strong 3 that come down look like top 6 . Middsbro / Sheff U/ Coventry /West Brom /Derby / Watford done good business Norwich / Millwall in the mix which leaves us down around 14th in the pecking order or lower!!! but changes daily.............

Not surprised at all if Knight leaves.
Tinnion doesn't do planning as a rule but maybe signing Randell as a direct replacement early proves he does plan sometimes.

After a season of questionable success I have a horrible feeling that the upcoming campaign might see us falter through our lack of commitment in bringing in better players to boost our chances. Struber has proved nothing yet and it will only be down to the early results that can prove his worth for the longer term but I don't think we have the right mix available, and when you consider we have at least 3 regulars out for at least another 2-3 months I fear that we don't have the right players ready to start a difficult opening day at Sheff Utd. We have already seen the tendency towards new players from Europe tempting Gerhard's eye but surely there has to be closer to home talent available to buy that won't use being away from home as an excuse for poor integration and play. The mere thought of Jason Knight leaving us is beyond comprehension because if you truly want to build a team capable of the play-offs or better then you absolutely have to draw a line around the key players that got us to where we finished last season. The likes of Mehmeti, Armstrong, Cornick, Twine and Mayulu can all do the vanishing trick for me as their total contribution was basically the goals scored by Anis which were not even close to what he should have had if he didn't showboat so much.

And me. Got good vibes after reading up reports on him that he could be our next big money player. Looking forward to see him play.

Also Murphy touch wood might be over his injury’s, but maybe a loan move for him before we use him would be beneficial.

    And me.

But the negative ones will be all out when Knight does go lambasting the club without thinking it through. We’ve got more than 25 players at the moment, I think 27 so at least three will need to go before we consider buying in.

Without the sale of Knight we will get to next summer with the Scott money not included in the three year cycle of FFP. Hopefully Semenyo has a good season and goes for big money next year to bail us out.
Annoys me that FFP figure set back all those years ago has not has any inflation yet wages and player sales has.

the powers that be have likely got some algorythm that determined the relevance of maybe crowds v £40k if they decided to "change +/- " the £40k they maybe would just have a figure that states the FFP amount in line with inflation is £45k................... ! Although you say wages have gone up so has what is charged as income. the clubs need to balance say making £x amount on selling 1000 shirts at £55??!! against making more profit by selling maybe 1500 at lesser price but selling more enhances profit
the club shirts do not cost more than about £15 to bring to the counter!!!!!! £40 profit per shirt ......................
