On the subject of our friends & neighbours... I see Palarse fans have gathered for a protest at their local public toilets. They're royally annoyed at UEFA for sticking to the letter of their nit-picking rules. Based on what I know, I think they should be rather more annoyed at Steve Parrish, for missing a deadline he knew was coming. Everyone knows UEFA will do anything to annoy English Clubs and English Football. Even though another English Club (Nottingham Forest) look set to gain from the blunder of Parrish. Just imagine the fun there will be if UEFA did back down in a few weeks, and took the Europa League place back off Forest. Birthdays & Christmas come all at once for the Lawyers...

Front page of The Sun today; Gazza rushed to A&E Such a troubled man, but in his prime a supremely talented footballer who had that extra thing you hardly ever see. Seems he can find no peace nowadays. Get well soon Gazza if you can...
I hope he comes through this, but he has had mountains of help over the years and has not learned lessons.
Sorz my bad it was a pic of Sam Bartrams chip shop in Floyd road but I messed it up and now it’s gone forever !!
That little corner of Floyd Road never looked better. Mid-late 1950's? Those old houses on the railway line side of the street, and the top of an old fashioned lamp post, looks like it's just on that corner near the shop front sign. And a bit of that old wire & stick fencing you used to see everywhere... No parked cars, street furniture or plastic wheelie bins.
Seems it was a sports (goods) shop according to several online sources. I can't quite read the small print on the shop sign. Perhaps the fish & chip shop is an echo of the old legend of Harry Byrant's chip shop on East Street circa 1905, where the boys of the first ever team were supposedly served haddock for supper if they won their game (hence 'Addicks' becoming their nickname). The team might have been off to the greengrocer's shop on Charlton Church Lane where two of my grandparents used to work, to buy some healthy veg.
