If we sign xhaka I can’t see Neil being captain. He will not be a cert to start

I was being slightly facetious when I suggested that Diarra was prominent in destroying an England team that Longstaff is nowhere near, nor has been at any level
But what the hell, if they can come up with ****, so can I

I dont see a world where Neil stays and is stripped of the captaincy. Would just be setting up potential conflict in the group. Neil will be captain unless he is sold imo which I have a feeling he will be unfortunately.

For Xhaka to be so forceful and specific in his desire to come here and the request for the deal to be concluded quickly, it must be some sales pitch from KLD.

Xhaka must have been sold that there were more top drawer lads on their way over you'd think or a meringue?

If Xhaka actually signs, huge ****ing credit to KLD. He not only has a vision, but he can sell it and act on it.

It's utterly amazing how far we've come in the last 4 years.

I haven’t stopped all day. The audacity to try it in the first place, nevermind Xhaka now essentially trying to force the move? From Leverkusen? Bundesliga runners up and invincibles before that? What is this Sunderland we support? Exciting beyond belief.

Xhaka could have a domino effect and nudge over the line the likes of Lucumi that may be on the fence.

This (if it comes off) is the first signing we’ve made that will make the other prem fan bases go “right then, they’ve got a chance.”

I prefer being completely written off but it’s still nice that some are starting to take notice. <laugh>

We are still by far favourites for relegation.
The odds are quite high against us staying up.

I think it’s a good time to put money on us staying up.
In the two first halves in Portugal we looked a lower mid Premier team and the way things seem to be going transfer wise we could finish comfortably mid table.
