If we don’t see any sort of quality come, we are only destined for one league….

Based on his stats he either started and got subbed off or was on the bench for them.

Didn't make an appearance in the last couple of months of his loan either. Hopefully the new boss can work his magic on him and find a player in there.

The new corporate brochure for next season has been released and only two players feature in it.

One is Pandur, the other is Kamara, so presumably we're not expecting them to go anywhere.

I'm not sure whether this is what you're already saying, but I'm pretty sure that for PSR purposes you can book the whole guaranteed fee to the current year's accounts regardless of when it is actually paid or due to be paid.

Yeah, that is what I mean. If it’s £3 million as the initial fee, it can be banked for PSR regardless of whether it’s paid in several instalments over several years. If it’s £2 million plus add-ons then you can only bank the £2 million now.

It's part of the loophole that can encourage two clubs to pay inflated fees for each other's players at the same time. Both clubs can amortise the cost of their signing over several years whilst booking the entire received fee onto the current year's accounts, which can help them mutually get out of a PSR hole at year end without weakening their squads. I think Newcastle and Forest notably did it last summer.

Yeah and Chelsea and Villa did it too. They sold each other academy and first-team players at inflated fees to help with PSR.

Villa signed Ian Maatsen from Chelsea for £37.5 million on a six-year contract, amortised as £6.25 million-a-year.

A day later, Chelsea bought Omari Kellyman for £19 million on a six-year contract so the fee was amortised as £3,166,666-a-year.

Villa did it with Everton too. Everton bought Tim Iroegbunam for £9 million on a three-year contract so amortised as £3 million-a-year. Villa then bought Lewis Dobbin for £10 million.

All of these transfers were finalised in late June last year, probably so all the clubs involved could show profits for the 23/24 season rather than the 24/25 season.

We(well the new coach to be more specific)really do have an enormous amount of work to do before the Coventry game and I just can't see it being completed in time.

Jakirovic must be pulling his hair out and sitting quietly wondering what the **** he's doing here? Rightly or wrongly(I'm applying the benefit of the doubt here),we've just torn up any defensive stability we had, throw in Coyle's injury and it's pretty obvious we're relying on Hughes and perm any other rookies you care to perm.Midfield, not much different from last season but minus Puerta and Alzate(Nothing to worry about there then):emoticon-0147-emo:

Up front.....Where's the 2 strikers he promised the bloke as recently as the Q&A?

I genuinely feel for Jakirovic in all this because I believe he has good intentions, sadly he's being treated no better than last year's lamb to the slaughter!!!

Last year he tried to convince us that we should disregard August and then we'd be a real force to be reckoned with...This year he's said sweet **** all...I'm not sure which is worse.

I thought the last summer transfer window was a crap show, this is beginning to look a lot worse. Pathetic.

The hope for a settled squad this season with only a few additions has gone out of the window.

    Damn City!

The two strikers at the QA were obviously McBurnie and Frigan. Frigan may still happen.

He clearly wanted both players and only the EFL prevented the McBurnie one. Though probably for the best.

The EFL can't be blamed for his incompetence...

If not McBurnie then who? He was targeted by the new brains team, you clearly have little or no faith in their judgement?

The back five does not appear too bad in the absence of more being sold.
Hughes and Egan at centre half.
    Pandur between the sticks.
Drameh at left back and Coyle on the right when fit.

Been going on since he took over now hasn't it. Scrimping on a striker. Frigan was supposedly close last week, what's happened to that?
